Weird central locking fault.

Featured Replies

My car has developed a fault with the central locking, over the last 2 months it has on two occasions unlocked & locked the doors whilst driving along, ive also noticed that when you switch the car off the radio goes off & doors unlock,it only used to do this when the key was removed,im wondering if the ignition switch is faulty?

mine does it too.... When I take out the key from the ignition switch the radio goes off and car unlocks itself....

Regards

Have you tried using your spare key to see if the fob is faulty (new battery required?). May be worth looking in your maxidot to see what settings you've got for the central locking too.

cheers

That doesnt sound right, with anti hijack enabled the doors should definitely not unlock and lock whilst in motion; also you are quite correct in that the doors only unlock when the key is pulled from the ignition (or you pull a door handle twice).

Id get it looked at.

Ours is having the exact same problem.

It's at the dealers now. They identified a fault with the ignition switch which they replaced... they broke the ignition barrel while doing this though so waiting for a new one to arrive.

Will let you know if it solves the problem.
