Just completed a massive road trip via Hull Ferry to Rotterdam..Through Holland, Germany, Austria (Berchisgarten and Saltzberg), Slovenia (Kranjska Gora) and Northern Italy

2000 miles in all........ in, at times, horrendous weather (Rain and Snow!) The worst for 50 years apparantly!!

Max speed on the Satnav was 143mph (German Autobhan and it took a while!! LOL)...and an average of 46mpg over the whole trip. The car never missed a beat and was an effortless cruiser on the Autobhans and was a delight to drive.

The car, of course, ended up filthy and it took me two days to get it back to my high standards!

Nice one. Just completed similar trip in my VRS to the Alps.

Unbelievably averaged over 56mpg for the whole 2,300 mile trip. (grandad style driving though mostly)'

Getting some winter rubber on the 16s ?

A trip like that can really make or break your bond with the car, looks like you had a great time. I took the Yeti through France, Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, Croatia, central Italy and back through Austria and France over five weeks last summer - covered over 5,250 faultless miles and I came to the conclusion that I never wanted to get rid of the car! Great photos btw.

Quite possibly! It all depends on when I order the MK3 vRS I suppose.

For now though, I'm happy with my plastic vRS (the spoiler has been fitted now and looks great!).

Beer was suprisingly good..Union Beer in Slovenia and .......Bavarian Beer in Salzberg and Berchisgarten is legendary!
