I also thought about the V6 when buying my Superb as my other car has a V6, but when it came down to it the 2.0 tfsi is only a second and a bit slower to 62 than the V6 and the 10 mph loss at the other end did not bother me. I did test drive a V6 (for the engine noise) but it was disapointing compared to my 370Z, so settled on the 2.0 petrol and could not have been happier. Is there a particular reason for wanting one?

I totally agree with you, I've kept my V6 Mondy 'cos it's old but still useful, but the 2.0 TSi Twin-door is both quicker & more economical than the 222 bhp Ford!

Join Cambridgeshire Police and go on a shooting course - I'm told they have an armed response unit using one. An unmarked car, and in black, IIRC.

with £7k off a new one very tempted to join you. Could be mid life crisis here too :)

If the colour is an issue why not to buy a car in whatever colour and wrap it in foil? Example: http://www.wrapstyle.com/gallery/662

I think the one in Hamiliton is your best bet, but it is a long drive so think wisely, but should be okay but be warned if when you get there and the car is parked round the back it is a bugger to get out as i usually struggled in my octavia when ever i was in getting a service, don't go to parks any more though the service is PATHETIC i went there in January to order my superb and the guy said he had no clues about the VAT offer applying to the Diesel Hatchbacks but not the Diesel Estates, the next closest dealer to me is Henrys Glasgow and must admit it is a completley different league, nice staff and good servicing deals for taxi drivers like myself,

good luck on getting the superb you are after

Why a maximum of two years old James?

You thinking of selling?

Well, it crossed my mind :giggle: . Dealer just offered me £14K for mine, but it seems my car is more or less what he's after!

Well mine is exactly what he is after, well 2 years and 2 weeks old :giggle: but with 17,000 miles on the clock running better then when new  . How is yours?

It's just turned 3 years old now and got well under 10k miles on it. They keep telling me with those miles it's not worth having a car I suppose thats why they want to buy it. I probably ought to keep it and flog it to one of my kids cheap if I see something that tempts me. I quite fancy having one of those VW Amarok pick ups when they bring them out in 3.0l.

Gents. Having a serious look at new 3.6 L&K with the new Ivory trim. Drive the deal have great deals to null the pain. Looking at fun factor over running cost but still interested in what mpg you guys are getting. Also come rain/winter that 4wd make real diff or just nice comforting factor. Cheers

Well I get between 32-34mpg on a run but that drops to mid 20's around town, drops again if sat in London traffic (gridlock style) to low 20's. but thats rare!

4wd is great wet or dry! Just put your foot down, she grips, goes and goes fast  .

The hard part to explain is how mature the engine feels, very different to other Superbs, its a class engine but it does like a few revs to make real progress.

Most pain is in the Car Tax, that hurts more then the fuel costs :@

How much is the tax?

When I looked a few months ago I think it was Parkers that said it was around £700 IIRC.
