OK, will do. Finding a local installer is also a pain in the ar*e, I've driven out to see a couple and neither one have got back to me. Seems that no-one wants to undertake the work of swapping out speakers.

Why don't you have a go yourself?

I'm not brave enough, shame you don't live in the West Midlands....

I'm thinking of getting the Audison Voce AV K6 and seeing if they sound good enough with my Hertz HE2 amp. If not I'll get the matching 'Audison AV due' Amp and that should do it. I'll also add a sub in the boot, maybe the active Alpine SWE-815, or, if I need to utilise the HE2 amp elsewhere, I can use that to power a passive sub maybe.

Once I find an installer......LOL

It is really not that hard, here is a pic of my speakers going in the Superb.

I admire your know-how but I haven't even got the courage to take off the A-Pillar to check or re-position the tweeters, so attempting the doors would be out of my comfort zone I'm afraid. I bet your speakers sound fab though.

Thank You for the kind words. The do sound really quite nice yes, there was 2 layers of some very good sound deadening also fitted to the doors. tweeters not totally ideal but i wanted to keep the oem look. There is also a 15 inch sub fitted now :) I must get round to making a thread of the build.

Considoring you already have different speakers fitted it will be a matter of removing trim and swapping them over. Much easier than you imagine mate.

Give it a go, you'd wonder why you didnt do it your self in the first place

I also want to put an active sub in the boot and I don't want to mess with electrics and such. Thanks, ryan, but if it's as easy as you say then why can't I find someone locally to do it? I posted a request in this forum and nobody responded. My car's only 8 months old and if I buggered up anything I'd be devastated. And the wife would hit the roof :)

Probably more lack of time than willing/ability

The only bit of the cars electrics you touch generaly is the headunit stuff. Everything else is seperate

I appreciate your encouragement but I'd still prefer to pay someone experienced to get it right first time for me.

I would not waste your money on a active sub ether. Shame there was no post before you spent your money as you could have got it right first time with a decent amp that would run the front end and a sub etc.

All I've spent so far has been on Rainbow component speakers (£150) and Hertz HE2 amp (£120) and fitting, so I was just dabbling my toes in as it were. Now I think I'll jump right in and get the Audison Voce AV K6 speakers (£329) and maybe a small active sub for the boot (Alpine SWE-815 for £95), have everything fitted, and re-evaluate the sound from there. If the Hertz amp is the weak link then I'll get the matching Audison amp and use the Hertz amp to power a better sub (if needed) or sell it with the Rainbows.

Of course, I'm open to suggestions too :)

the active sub will be the weak link

Is this a better solution than the 8" active Alpine SWE-815? And will this run off my Hertz HE2 amp (meaning I'll need another amp for the front Audison Voce system?)

I mainly listen to pop music from the 1960's through to today

Youd be lucky tk find that product. Jbl havnt made the gt4 sub for ages now.

It would be ok off 200wrms but id give it more power than that
