Well decided to have a look and see why my glovebox light isn't working, Prised the lens off to find nothing behind, No wonder it aint been working, It hasn't got one.. :think:

What age octy have you got?

A mate of mine has a 59 plate a4 and glove box light was part of the "light pack" and not standard

I think all Octavia models have a glovebox light.Your light unit must be missing ie:unplugged from the loom.

The switch is in the light itself. They have a habit of falling into a pile of parts and springs when removed and are notoriously hard to fathom out how to put back together.

I would hazard that someone has removed it, broken it and then just shoved the lens back into the hole.

Pull out the glovebox and see if the wirings there. If so, a new lamp unit is about £10.

I'll have a look at it, Like you say someone could have been there before me...

Thanks for that, Mine has nowt like that attached to the clear lens. Looks like a common problem of them ''self destructing'' if touched :wonder:
