Front centre armrest wear.

Featured Replies

Have noticed that the armrest has wear (just on the "piping") on the drivers side which I believe is caused simply by using the seat belt.

Has anyone else noticed this?

I assume you mean the centre armrest in between the seats?

I'm not sure how the seatbelt could be to blame?

Do you have a picture?

I checked today and realised that as I connect the seat belt my hand rubs againts the top of the armrest nearest to me. I will try to take a photograph soon.

OK...have a laugh, but it took me weeks to realise the centre armrest (lid of the centre storage console) extends forward...and can be ratcheted to a higher level. Not sure I ever did find it in the manual. Only say this because I wonder if your armrest is permanently forward and/or raised, and that is why you are catching it?

I did checked that as well and it was not in the forward position.

Have you checked the rear centre armrest parts that lift up/cup holders? :giggle:

your not alone, i knew it could be lifted up t put things in when i got but its not when i talked to my brother (he has a 12 plate 1.6 tdi superb) he told the armrest was all adjustable i know keep it at the lowest setting and at the second click forwards and that does me

Er, how do you increase the height again?

Just lift it (as though you are gaining access to the cubby) to the required height.

It'll then stay at that height until you open the armrest all the way, at which point the ratchet resets and allows the lid to close to it lowest position.
