Windows.. again

Featured Replies

I have read a few threads about windows on Roomsters, I have a mate with a Roomster, he is an oldish fella, and cash is tight...

I have been having a poke about to see why his electric windows both stopped working at the same time.

I have looked at all fuses, I have run VCDS for fault codes, I have turned the key in the lock a few times to try the reset thing mentioned on here.

Question is where do I go now and what is the most likely cause for both sides to stop working?

Thanks for your help.

Are you talking about rear windows?

After fuses, the next thing coming to my mind is damned old (electric) cables :giggle:

No mate, it is the drivers and passenger windows in the front, they have just stopped working in the closed position.

I would check relays, try substituting it for a known good relay.Where they are in the Roomster Im not quite sure(side dash panel?).

Good luck.

Get your mate to have a look at the wiring where it goes into the drivers door, its a common fault on RHD models where the wiring loom is to tight and the wires get damaged.

I lost my windows and mirrors for a while but luckily ive got a good local mechanic who fixed it for me for me quite cheaply .

Thanks for the info, I will have a look on Sunday, I have seen a similar issue on a 406 Peugeot.

I got the same problem at my Roomster 2007 mod. The problem was divided into two part. One, the sircut card in the drivers side was corrupt. I change it with a card from a 2. hand dealer. Have to buy the motor as well. Then the window on passangerside work. Then I change the switch at driver side, the doubble on. Then bouth window work again. No jamed wires, no damaged motors. The workshop or dealer could not help, and do not want to only sell me circutcard.

my window has just stopped closed to nite first time will ring the dears tomorrow see wot there say about it
