Can anyone recommend somewhere either in the Cheltenham or Leeds areas where I could take my Fabia for an air conditioning service? I've been hearing a light squeal from the car when I turn on the A/C recently and would like to get it checked out by someone who isn't going to rip me off...!

If you're travelling between Cheltenham and Leeds on a regular basis, make a stop in Leicester and talk to Joe at www.coolrunning.biz. Won't use anybody else.

Just used Stuart from Cooldrive up here in Leeds. Mobile service. Very knowledgeable, with over 12 years in the air conditioning trade and a reasonable £60 re-charge.

He can do leak testing with a variety of methods if required as well as any maintenance.

I'd tend to agree with you, guys like the one you've listed survive by being good/proper A/C people, dealers only tend to have someone that has been trained to stay legal while working on these systems - a huge difference in ability and the end cost to get the system working as it should.

If you're coming down the M1, try Autokool at Barlborough (1 min off J30); he's an ex-cop with a burgeoning business, excellent guy n employees (and I have no vested interest even though I'm ex-of-the-job, never met him professionally!)
