Renewal time again - my experience.

Featured Replies

As a mature safer risk with no accident/convictions Churchill quoted me £218 f/comp. v. my MORE THAN renewal of £350 which had not increased from last year (Churchill's policy has same or better terms excess etc.)

Last year I found it was impossible to get a better renewal quote anywhere, so it seems the market has become more competitive again, with companies like Churchill currently advertising heavily and trying to gain market share.

Fascinating........ I know, I know.

Interesting - I'm just going through the process at the moment and Churchill have come out at £336 compared to my renewal of £426.  Although to be fair, Excess with Churchill is £200 against my current insurers £150 so it's not quite like for like yet.

When I've looked in the past the difference between the excess is sometimes directly reflected in the cost of the insurance, so if you're a safe driver having a higher excess saves you money. E.g. if the excess is 500 rather than 250 the insurance can be 250 cheaper, so have no accidents and you save the 250, year on year too. It might not work out the same for every quote but it's worth checking before you renew what the cost will be with different levels of excess

I just got a renewal quote of £428 of 1st central and with no reason why this has gone up by £100 I kicked them into touch.

Managed to find a firm called budget insurance which quoted £174, after breakdown and what not It went up to £219 which im happy with and thats with a £450 excess and 10yrs no claims.

27 yrs no claims.........touch wood

235 fully comp wth wife on .........100 exess....happy with that.

Lol I got my insurance for £150 with 9 years no claims and a N.Ireland address. You must all be considered high risk.
