Best snow foam?

Featured Replies

Just looked on eBay, and their seems to be a million different brands of snow foam, any input on which is best would be much appreciated

I have used 2 so far. Ultimate snowfoam and valetpro snowfoam. I've had problems with the valetpro one - the liquid isn't smooth as it looks like some of the contents have different density so the lance produces an inconsistent foam thickness. I can offset this to some extent by using hot water when I top the lance bottle up after putting 2 inches of foam in the bottom. I've had no such problems with the ultimate one. My car never gets really dirty so I can't say how either perform when your cars caked in crud. I buy the ultimate snowfoam from ultimatefinish.co.uk usually 2 x 5l at a time to offset the p&p some recon magifoam is really good but it looks like it's about twice the price....gulp!

Swarfega car wash. Can pick it up from b&q or screwfix for around £8-£10.

Krystal Kleen Details 'blizzard' is my current foam of choice :)

Autobrite magifoam!

Give the container a shake Ade...

I really rate VP pH neutral Snow Foam and is never inconsistent for me.....

Far better value for money than Magifoam IMO as well.

do agree magifoam is rather expensive, but is by far the best snow foam I have used. There is a gb on it atm on detailing world.

Thanks but I have a lot of Snow Foam to use up before I consider a new batch..as good as Magifoam may be

Cheers chris.... Yes I asked on the forum about vp when I had the initial problem and the concencus was to give it a good shake, which I've done ever since. Even then when I decanter it into the lance bottle i can still see 'bits' in it so I add very hot water out of the kettle now, which seemed to work yesterday as it must have increased the temp to a point where the bits disolved so maybe I've just got a duff lot because you wouldn't expect to have to do 'stuff' to it to get it to work in the middle of a glorious summer! It smells nice anyway and I'm using it on SWMBO motor as I can't send it back because I've had a senior moment and can't remember where I bought it from.

I might go all anal one day when her tip is really dirty and spray 1/2 and 1/2 to see if VP is better than the ultimate stuff

woe is the world of the amateur wannabe detailer :giggle:

I'm using magifoam at the moment and really like it, far better than the supersnow foam. For added foamyness Ive been adding a drop of Zymol shampoo to the mix.

It's very sensitive to temperature. In the winter it's turns into a yoghurt like consistency. I put it by a radiator and it goes clear again

As said in another thread, I'm very tempted to buy a snow foam lance, especially the AutoBright Group buy on DW.  I'll probably buy Deal 1 with 500ml of foam. However which one do I buy, Megafoam or Ultimate Snow Foam? Will either strip wax/protection?

If used at the correct dilution ratio...1" of foam topped up with water, it will not strip off your protection

Bump, anyone got any new suggestions or recommendations? I've just treated myself to a lance

I've used Autobrite (came withe the lance) and Valet Pro neutral. Both are very good but for me each of them has a slight issue.

The Autobrite foam tends to hang around, particularly when the weather is cold. It was still on the drive over 24 hours later using it last winter. on the plus side dwell time on the car is very good as you might expect.

The VP foam needs to be shaken thoroughly before use, as it has a tendency to separate. I hadn't realise this until I'd used up the thinner top layer and had a much thicker liquid to coax into the bottle - didn't appear to be any less effective though.

I'm now using Bilt Hamber Auto Foam, which is as good as the other two but without either of their downsides. It's dark green, so very easy to see the level in the lance bottle.

Appreciate the reply thanks

Magifoam purple ftw

Also the group buy has run for years, no rush it doesn't look to be going anywhere.

It's been running forever seemingly, I just called them up when I bought my lance and foam, ref'd the group buy and told them which deal I wanted.  Really good service and speedy delivery.

I was even cheeky enough to ask them to switch my deal to coloured magifoam, and they did :)

cheers bud
