cruise control easy fit?

Featured Replies

is this an easy retro fit? do u just need a clutch switch and a stalk or is there more to it?

Have a search. Loads of treads on here. Easy enough but if your a bit iffy on this sort of thing search for Tech1e on here. He does it at a really good price. He's the guy who wrote the original guide.

Thanks Nathan :)

Is there a guide available that uses the plug and play rather than the splicing route?
Thanks

Sedox performance did mine yesterday took an hour and a half, £35 for the stalk from eBay £50 fitting.

Works great!

If you get a genuine kit it includes the instructions. I cut and solder (not splicing) into the ECU wire as I find it easier. Makes no difference to the operation of the system.

Interesting and a bargain. Wonder how they financed the loom as I know how much the component parts cost to make one. Means they made next to nothing out of that.

I've got said instructions, just a little bit vague thats all lol. And I prefer to do things properly. Takes a little longer but its neater.

So the way I do it is untidy?

Been doing them ten years and no complaints yet :). I've just carried on doing them the way we worked them out before the kit was released so go to the ECU. Also has the bonus of zero connectivity issues that you get at the bulkhead connection point.

Did I say your work was untidy? I just dont see the point in chopping into the loom when it takes a little more effort to plug it in.

I work with gas/steam turbines and jet engines for a living so my attitude towards a job is to do by the book.

No but the neater comment implies mine is not neat.

Chopping into a loom is also an over statement I feel, joining a link wire into one connection on a plug is hardly massive undertaking and no more than I did on a near enough daily basis carrying out approved wiring repairs anyhow.

To the OP....

This is the kit i bought...

I followed this.  This is the original guide that Tech1e made years ago.  Everything is included even what tools you need.

and this is the tread i stared when i hit a little snag.  Read the comments and replies because in the tread someone is kind enough to tell you how to turn it on (i think).

Good luck.

It was in no way meant that your work is untidy. I'm not questioning your method of work, your quality of work or anything else for that matter. Simple matter of fact is, I prefer a factory finish as with others will be happy with splicing the wire in. Personal preferences and nothing more.
