Plasti Dip general query re spraying chrome grille

Featured Replies

I know that to colour code a chrome grille using ordinary spray paints the chrome has to be keyed or removed first for the paint to take on it

Does anyone with experience of Plasti Dip know whether or not it is the same for that, or will it spray directly onto the chrome without any other preparation, other than cleaning of course

Thanks

Bryan

Sprays straight on, no prep needed apart from a good clean :)

Thanks, Sam, that confirms what I've managed to find from Youtube videos after a longer search on Google :)

Looks like I've got a plan :)

Yep spray straight on. Did mine at the weekend

Had mine (the A6 grill surround, without taking it out of the car) sprayed (after cleaning with brakecleaner) about a year ago. Now 50tkm later everything is still on (and I do drive my car through a car wash and dont drive that slow).

Best laid plans and all that

Just tested the colour of the plasti dip and it's nowhere near the colour I was hoping it would be, so it's going to be back to plan B and vinyl wrapping :(

Blaze green for the Fabia?

Maybe :)

Good plan :)
