  • I have also tried both, and could not feel the BIG difference between 1.4 and 1.8. But wife "demanded" 4x4 and DSG so the only option now was the 1.8.

  • And yours came with the chrome window surrounds. Looks nice, congrats!

congrats more pics please

Very nice indeed.  For reasons known only to Skoda UK, we can't have either the 1.8 TSI engine or the chrome window surrounds.

That's a shame, hope that will change soon. But you can get the 1.8 with 4x4, though?

Here's another one :)

I've ordered a racing blue estate, it looks so nice. Well done! Seeing yours with the chrome surrounds makes me even more bitter and disappointed that I can't have them :(

Enjoy your new car!

No 1.8tsi at all, currently. :(

Only 4x4 in UK is 1.6tdi and 2.0tdi Manual at the time? No dsg?

..and it's rumoured that the Scout will get the 1.8tsi option at launch later this year.

No xenon  :|

But racing blue and chrome looks awesome.

I agree the difference is not huge between the two, but in my opinion the extra power justifies the price difference here in Sweden (at least for me) which is 15 000 SEK (about €1600). AND you get the multilink :) However, the 1.4 is a really great engine as well.

Took my car for a ride last night, it was a lovely evening and I truly enjoyed everything about the car. The comfortable seats, the sound quality of the Canton, the engine, plus the fact that it is quieter than the Octavia II....it feels GREAT :)

What does Canton cost in Sweden??? Here i Danmark it cost 8000 dkr. (850 £) Ridicoulos.....

Thanks! Shame about the chrome surrounds but maybe you can have them retro fitted later?

4300 NOK = 469GBP

Damn extras is expensive in Denmark.

To bad you can`t get the full range from start like other countries.

Everything related to cars is expensive in Denmark due to our stupid tax rules.

SEK = Svenske Kronor = Sweden

NOK = Norske Kroner = Norway

In Denmark the Canton sound system is 12.985 DKK including the Bolero radio = 1.509 GBP

It is only available as option for the Elegance range.

Hmm, I'm waiting for the 2,0 TDI DSG with a decent amount of extras, through Skoda financing programme it is (only) 70.000 DKK more because they cut the profit on extras (total value = 428.000 DKK). At least that was I got them "negotiated" to.

The dealer had a button on his screen saying 'MAX', he wasen't too keen on talking about it but I kept asking to it. When he pressed it, it zero'ed all the profit and minimized the charges for setting up the financing, making him only earn on the interests on a flat rate 3% Told me he could only give me that offer if they made the financing through their partner.

There must be some good things in Denmark that compensate for high car prices? The beer? The women? The education system? Pensions? Surely there must be something, else why would anyone live there?

I doubt you can put beautiful smart women as a reason for a country's high taxes. :P

We got as crappy weather as you got, but you pretty much nailed it here.

Theres nothing left in this country thats worth staying for, everything in Denmark cost a fortune, something af simple as a coca cola cost 22 dkr. for 1,5 liter that is

3£.... Going to the dentist is so expensive that many people cant affort it. im seriously thinking about moving to sweden.

Very nice car ... Dark Fade rear windows so it will be even better :-)

Can you post a picture of the rear? I'm wondering how the tailpipes look
