Chrome window surrounds

Featured Replies

The b*stards just want to tease us....this is what you could've won. Its in the UK brochure the dealer gave us - UK April 2013. Mind you, if what they mean is a chrome strip at the bottom edge of the window I'm not bothered. It's the one that goes all the way around the window I want.

Don't know why Skoda can't source better suppliers if the current one can't deliver. We're in a recession and there's demand for a product. Surely someone somewhere can come up with the goods?

Love the car, disappointed in Skoda though

The chrome strip in the bottom edge is for the hatch, the chrome all around the windows are for the estate. :)

Just ordered my Elegance hatch and the chrome window surrounds are on the options list at the dealers, but Skoda won't accept the order if they are specified. As mentioned above they may become available in 2014 again. I'm disappointed because I think the car looks a bit basic without them, but at least it saves me £150!

Just got a reply from the main dealer here in Slovenia that chrome window surrounds are not an issue with Elegance trim (they are standard option here). There is however NOT possible to get them in SE trim because of insufficient supply - that's what Skoda CZ is saying...

There is supposedly no issue with the quality whatsoever they say.

Update for Irish customers - official Twitter feed says chrome is back on offer as of 30/07/13 for €137.

I'm hoping it's nor a mistake as otherwise it looks like I May be re ordering arterial.

I've just spoken to Customer Services at Skoda UK and they say that they've had no communication from the factory that the chrome is available for order again. Given the amount of mis-information around on specs and options, I'm inclined to assume it is still not available.

Will call them direct tomorrow to see what they say. You're right in that often the left hand of skoda does not know what the right hand is doing.

According to my dealer, Skoda UK say that some countries have decided to offer the chrome, but Skoda UK have chosen not to. This is expected to be the case for the forseeable future.

Grrr.  :swear:

Just watching London Classic cycling and there is a UK registered new Octavia estate being used as a team car with chrome window surrounds...it is right hand drive.

In fact it is the Prudential Ride London commisars car with the referee talking to the breakaway through the roof.

Telephoned Skoda Ireland today to confirm their tweet. They promised to call me back within ten minutes..and on the ninth minute they so did!

The Chrome Pack is, as of last week, officially back on as an option in the Irish market. They've contacted my local dealer to inform them of same too as they were adamant that it won't be back for the foreseeable future.

Now I'm stuck between ordering an Elegance with extras, plus chrome, and a lovely Race Blue VRS. It looks so, so nice..

God dam it WHY can us UK. And Particulary N.Ireland peeps order the same things that are available 15 mins down the road

It's discrimination and I'm sick of hearing different excuses, rumours etc. It must be even more frustrating for you Ryan living so close to where they're available
