I'm in shock!

Featured Replies

Just got the insurance renewal for my daughters Citigo.

With all the talk of massive hikes for girls to even the score with the boys, I was expecting having to get a mortgage to pay for it.

Turns out its only £568 fully comp :) :)

Congratulations!  Nice to know there are some winners on the 'Insurance Lottery'!!! :giggle:

That is pretty good - how old is she?

That is pretty good - how old is she?

Coming up 22.

Two years insurance on the Citigo, only 2/3 the annual premium for her pug 106. That was over £1500 !

That's very good.

I knew a 21 yr male who paid £2200 insurance for a Smart car. It was the only thing he could get insurance on being a new driver, that's insane.

I wasn't impressed with my quote of £212 for the Citigo, but took it as it's good cover (I hope) with Skoda.

If I keep my citigo pasted September I will need to renew my insurance and ive been quoted £550.

20 yr old, man, with 2years no claims. Parked on the road over night, 10, 000 miles a year etc.

Not bad really :)

The low insurance premium was the main reason we got the car in the first place.

Paying £1500 a year for an old (2003) pug with 120K on the clock, making it a money pit in repairs, was taking the P.

In its last 6 months it had new brakes all round, clutch and flywheel, steering pump, a couple of wheel bearings, drivers seat mountings welded back in.

Oh, and the drivers door fell off coz the sister in law leant on it getting out and snapped the hinge welds!!

Thinking about it, if it hadn't been written off, we'd have had a brand new car in a few years :giggle:

It was like this for the missus. She had a '98 Polo that cost an arm and a leg to run and the insurance was £1200. Got the Citigo and it dropped to less than half that amount. I was expecting a similar figure to the Polo as the Citigo is new.  We are now saving a load of money just because the running costs are that much lower than the old car.  Result!!

My premium is £133 all in on the Citigo, against £240 on the vRS - and that includes the extra for a pretty bad write-off in 2009 putting a Megane RS through a hedge via a lamppost. I'm 43 and the car is kept on drive overnight That's with eSure.
