oil from exhaust

Featured Replies

hi

when driving home today I lost power and there was a rattle from the engine like a tin can with stones in it the temp gauge was fine I made it around a mile to the garage and the back was covered in oil? and coming from the exhaust...anyone idea what could be wrong? ive not long had the car and its been preety good until now... is there a common fault? a seal or something?

cheers all

Lubricating oil or diesel oil? The smells, and likely diagnoses, are quite different.

Hi

Engine all, checked dipstick and its very low, it was full this morning as checked before i was due to set off for blackpool

The smell was like burning tar and the smoke was like a grey blue colour if that helps?

Cheers

Sounds like the turbo to me :(

Afraid so; turbo seals.

I was sort of hoping against hope that an injector had blown, but it's the expensive one.
