Fabia Estate -what is it?

Featured Replies

Please forgive  stupid questions.

I'm investigating a Fabia estate to replace my Octy hatch.

The Fabia estate looks to me to be based on the previous model of Fabia because it does not have the dead straight roofline or top-of-widow line.  Am I right please?

And I've had a hint that a new Fabia is due.  That would make my Fabia if I get one out of date in a flash.  Is a new one being spotted pottering about ?

Thank you

What year is the car you're looking at?

Or do you have a link to show us

There is a new model due out soon, but I'm not aware of the release date

release date for fabia mk3 is 2014, no quarter yet, so I doubt q1 or q2

so I would say prob 2nd half, so about a year away

I can't really see how to explain my question any better.

On the current hatchback the roof line and top-of-window line is dead straight.

But the estate seems to have the curved roofline and window top line.

I don't think my eyes have gone yet.  So I thought the estate was based on the previous hatch not the current one.  If it is it is damn long in the tooth now!!! Well in need of a fresh model.

OR maybe the current estate is related to the roomster?? I don't know.

That is all it was--do I buy a really out of date design or wait or get something else.

The current estate is the same chassis/platform as the current hatchback.

Mk2 gained a facelift in 2010, but as far as I know the overall shape stayed the same

I can't really see how to explain my question any better.

Only the front half is related, the back end is more related to an Octavia. It's basically a well made cut n shut.

Thank you all very much.

Mk 1and Mk2 estate differences are pretty subtle but quite clear when put together like that.

Now all I have to decide is whether or not to wait a year . But if you bought cars on that basis you would never buy a car!!

It's like tech, wait for the 'latest' TV/ Computer/ Hi-Fi etc. MkII Fabia is a very good car for the money.

You've just missed the "VAT free" deals, so unless you are fairly good at haggling I'd wait for the mk3 as it won't be based on the same platform as the mk1. (Like the mk2 is)

Fabia estate is a good little car.

But with mk3 a year away you need to buy at the right price!
