Superb Bluetooth and Iphone 5

Featured Replies

I have a 2012 Superb Elegance  and an Iphone 5, never had either of them before so I don't have a gauge as it were.

I can have full bars on the phone and the call goes all Norman Collier like (for young viewers Google him). The call quality is rubbish I have had other iphones on a parrot kit before and not had trouble like this before. Could it be they just dont't like each other??

Any help would be great.

I have an iPhone5 and 2010 Superb Elegance (Columbus) and it works perfectly.

I have the same phone/car combination and it works perfectly. Perhaps you have a fault?

I did think that but which one!

I spoke to skoda garage and it's going in for 1st service in a couple of weeks and they are happy to look at it.

Just wanted to test the water in here, just Incase you all went of yes that's a known problem.

Thanks for the replys

Just out of interest does your Superb have a heated windscreen? If so this could affect the signal strength of the phone.

Don't have a 5 but have a 4s and the signal strength does bounce around. I am probably going to change to a s4 mini as this has RSAP (iPhone currently doesn't) so will use the cars antenna. Although I guess this isn't an option for you if it a new phone.

You could try the phone on 2G for a while and see how that goes. A colleague of mine mentioned that iPhones tend to hang onto the 3G network for too long causing poor performance connected to a car kit. I haven't tried this so can't confirm either way.

Hope this helps?

I doubt if this is the issue as I have the heated screen and both my iPhone4 and 5 were/are fine

No heated screen, strangely enough just before I launched the phone out the window yesterday I tried turning off 3G and it did seem to make a differance some how??

I will try it again and see, I cant change either the phone or the car as they are both company ones.

It truly is the most appalling hands free experience I have ever had.

Thanks for your help

Can you not get the company to swap you to a proper phone from a toy phone?

wow how useful  :wall:

Well you if you can't get them working what other option do you have? I'm sure the company would gawk at changing the car rather than a phone.

Friend of mine with a 12 play Octavia has had similar issues with his iPhone and Bluetooth. His had all sorts of Bluetooth problems with his iPhone in general. Stuff that other phones (android, winmo and BB) don't suffer from.
