Did I miss out on the 0%

Featured Replies

I know that whenever I were to have bought my new car soon after there would be another deal, but it seems I missed out on the 0% by only a few weeks. (picked up my car 20th june).

I am on a PCP and had the benefit of the £500.00.

I was just wondering, has anybody found any restrictions on the mileage of the 0%?? as I am hoping that this would put my mind at rest as I have mine on a 25k PCP.

I am sure that there is nothing I can do now, and actually if I would have waited until July to have ordered the car, I am sure I would have had extra expence with new brake pads, disks and maybe even a service, but when I look at the finance docs and see that I am paying A LOT in interest over 42 months, I feel a tad agreaved.

Also, does anybody know when this deal started?? was it 1st of July??

and, does it include the elegance???

1st July.

Yes includes Elegance I believe.

No milage restriction as far as I am aware, the milage "cost" is built into the PCP repayments.

Look at the total cost of your PCP - there should be a figure somewhere. Then take off the cash price. Then take off your £500 = how much the 0% would have saved you...

about £5k.....

as I have it set at 22k, with low deposit, I am paying £410 per month (inc £1000 deposit)

I am thinking of calling Skoda and seeing if there is any sort of goodwill.

Althouhg I ordered the car on the 10th of June, it was a stock car, and came through within two weeks, even through I was told 3-4. If if I would have known how quick it would have come thoruhg I could have waitied.

wonder if I will get anywhere.

Thing is, it was a stock car then but might not have been a month later...

Unfortuntely we can all only make a desicion at the time of buying if the deal is right for us.

PCP is an expensive way of driving a nice car.  Finance charges are pretty high because you pay interest on the GFV for the whole term of the deal.

But you went into that agreeing to the figures, hindsight is a wonderful thing and this is why car brands don't advertise new offers before they become active.

Hopefully you may get something from Skoda UK, but realistically you agreed to the deal available at the time and were happy with it.

It's just unfortunate you are now left paying for a car that others can get cheaper.

No different to other models that became VAT free after people had already bought them. (Fabia mk2 VRS for example)

Elegance is definitely included in 0% PCP offer. I ordered my 2.0 CR Elegance with a few extras on 4th July. Just shy of the 25k mark, with a relatively small deposit (£1500) and 7000 annual mileage it will cost me £290 per month (42 months) and of course with 3 years free servicing

I bought my MkII vat free which was great.

cant complain too much as even with the MKIII I am saving on monthly payments, but if I had 0% I would be saving another £100 a month. Thats a lot, especially as I am unable to make use of the free servicing becuase of my high mileage.

You'll still get free servicing for the first 30k miles though?

3 years/30000 miles, whichever comes sooner. So in my case 3 years as I do relatively low mileage

It's not a case of being unable to make use of the free servicing, it's just that you go over the milage limit early, so you use it up in the first or second year.

But you are still making use of it for 30k miles.

I cannot make use of the free serviing as I have taken out the service and maintenance plan as this will save me money over the life of the car. I had to do this before the car had 10,000 miles on it, and so I would have started paying before the first service.

spent hours arguing with Skoda about this, but they would not budge.

Sounds like you should sell it and buy a new one! Even the hit on the interest paid and cancellation fee might be worth it. I'd ring Skoda Finance and see what they say.

Drive the deal have the 1.6 DSG Elegance with £2750 off plus 0% PCP.  Sounds like it would save you almost £8K !!!

You still have a service every year though right? year 1 year 2 year 3 unless you do high milage where it is 10K 20K 30K

Good question Jakeyc, I'm not sure what the servicing interval is on the 2.0 CR.

You need to make sure you are on fixed service intervals, not variable (they make that mistake with me).  I think you get three free services however you do it. either yearly or by 10K increments.

Cant do fixed service as my mileage is too high (35k per year)

with regards to selling the car, and buying a new one, that is probably much more hassle than it is worth at this stage.

no idea how much I would lose on what I bought it for, and then it is a case of whether there are any available.

will call skoda and see what they say.

Shame you can't back your one to the dealer and then buy it again under 0%. :D

If only life was that simple.

I really feel for you... It's a real bummer. I hope you can sort something out. Otherwise don't worry about it. That's life sometimes.... :-(

1 hr 5 mins on hold so far.

I think even if they do now offer me something, I will lose most of it in call charges!!!!

I think if she could have told me to p****** *f* she would have!!!!

It will be interesting to see how many people who have been waiting all this time for their cars will actually know/get 0%.

Yikes.. oh well never mind... clear your head of it... you've got a cracking car at least!!! :-) It's not worth worrying about it now.

you are right. It is only a shame as the £80+ saving a month would have been nice (on top of the £10 finance having got rid of my L&K, and saving in fuel).

I didnt think I would get anywhere, but it would still be interesting to see all of those who agreed finance deals at the £500 but dont get their cars until august, what will happen.

I bet the dealers wont be as honest.

I am one. I ordered June & del expected Sept. Signed up for the £500 + 3 yrs servicing, but when the 0% started July the dealer said I would be better going for that, however on checking he said that the original finance deal couldn't be changed. I intend paying the balance off straight away so I will still get the £500 plus free servicing.
