VOSA & Manufacturers Recalls. Which model has had most?

Lots of manufacturers are required to do recalls on safety matters,

many get much publicity and are well known by the general public.

Many cars that people might go to buy used have had much less publicity which could be worrying if you are not aware that work

could or could not have been done.

Some cars have had a surprising amount of recalls.

Citroen C3 & DS3 was a surprise to me.

C4 and Picasso, holly cammolly...

What car do you know to have had the most recalls on safety matters,

or how many recalls has a car you have owned had to have?

*Has anyone worked in a Citroen Garage and do the workshops spend lots of time doing recall work on the various models

that appear to need lots done?*

Peugeot is pretty bad, as is Citroen but what i had in mind was a particular Car Model not a Manufacturer.

How many recalls for just one particular Model of car.

eg, 4 for Toyota iQ's built from 2009-2010

(but that is a totally new car in 2009, using parts designed especially for it and not taken from other models, Euro 4,

Then changes to Euro 5 in 2011 and parts and ECU is sorted out, and then a 5 year warranty as standard, so some excuse.and they learned and acted.)

We know about Toyota/Lexus as a company, thats the well publicised recalls,

but they have lots of models over the years using the same components from the same source, so a recall covers many models for one faulty part.

If you have say 4 faulty components but all or most of these are in each model, thats is many recalls when listed.

Just had a look at Toyota on that link - wow, so much for legendary reliability ...

This one is scary for Prius/Corolla/Avensis built between '03-'09

It is possible that the splines of the extension shaft on vehicles equipped with Electric Motor assisted Power Steering (EMPS) may not have received the correct hardness treatment. This can cause the spline to distort and wear and eventually result in loss of steering.

See I see Toyota as a brilliant manufacturer and very reliable. Why? Because there quick to act when they know of potential issues wrong with there cars. And they make it public. Unlike Vauxhall, ford ect which have had lots of major issues which never triggered a recall they just did the work if you was to call them and book it in with symptoms to that of an issue they know about.
