Dead Blackline.

Featured Replies

Car is months old 1850 miles on the clock not been used for several weeks. Come to start it. NOTHING Batterys good full tank just cranks over No fuel delivery to filter from tank. Skoda Assist turned out did all the usual diagnostics cant find out wrong. Takes conections of tank pump feed and connects directly to a seperate live pump sounds like its working re conects to loom its dead. Checked both ignition keys to see if its the immobolizer that seems ok. Disconected battery to let everthing re set still nothing. I have even left ithe ignition switched on for half an hour this is supposed to clear the immobilizer circuit nowt. It looks like a tow into dealers on monday to get it sorted. We have had to unpack all the car as we were going away today. Good old reliable Skoda, this is the first new car i have had problems with i think i will go back to kia in future, ANY IDEAS?

I know that if they cannot supply you a courtesy car, they have to hire one for you. I seem to remember they have to get you back on the road within 4 hours.

Yup you should have a replacement of equivalent size in 4 hours if it has to go to the dealer.

Yep, had to call them out to my vRS last year, and being honest, I thought they were fantastic, the guy came out tried to fix it, couldnt, needed towing to a dealer of my choice, then they paid for a taxi to take me home from the dealer, then two hours later a guy from Enterprise picked me up from home took me to the local branch opened it all up and said 'take your pick, whatever car you want!!' so I picked a SAAB 9-5 Turbo Estate, as it was either that or a Vauxhall Corsa!!!  And all on the Jubilee Bank Holiday MOnday last year, from breakdown to being in a car was about 4 hours, and loads of phone calls from Skoda Assist keeping me informed of what was happening next etc, overall, couldnt fault it, they were fantastic, yes it was a pain in the arse the car breaking down and I lost a day out, but it couldnt of been handled better, so if they havent supplied you a car then ring them up and find out why not.

Sorry guys should have told you we have a flat near Loch Lomond so its not the end of the earth that we did,nt get away. I am such a fussy get when it comes to cars and have a deep distrust of all car dealers due to some bad experiences in the past ie damaged and repaired car without telling us etc etc. So i have arranged for RAC to transport it in on Monday, where i hope it will be fixed emmediatelly or asap. Im hoping its a ECU problem and not the Fuel pump as they will have to reduce the diesel level in the tank and extract pump via floor in back seat that should make the car smell like shell refinery. So its not Skoda assist that will be the problem but more lickely Simpsons we will see. Having read some of the posts on here i am not expecting much. Taking a car to a garage is like goig to the dentist for me they usually both result in pain one way or the other.

But as above skoda assistance should have given you a car and taken yours back to your nearest dealer wherever you are in Europe!

It's all part of the skoda assistance package, so you shouldn't have had to miss your time away at all unless you elected to.

Broken down Skoda Vehicle replacement this is about as much use as a handbrake on a canoe, 2 days max. So if you were setting off on a touring Holiday around Scotland with pre booked Hotels. The hire car would get you there and the following day you would have to return it, then what if your car is fixed it costs you a fortune in fuel if its not you hire another car at your expense. All this on top of a new car they have sold you thats not fit for purpose as its broke. I thought the idea was no inconvienience to the owner. My advice buy a used car and take out your own breakdown cover, at least you would have a replacement for the duration. The problem with this kind of thing is you dont read the small print untill you have to and usually by then its to late, and sods law says it would happen abroad in europe.

This must be a new thing, as was always for the duration of the repair.

If the booklet in your car shows the old terms, and they haven't written to you advising they've changed, then the old rules apply.

I used Skoda assist last month... Great service and had a free Passat with a free tank of fuel for 48hrs. My car was fixed sooner, just hung onto hire car until it was convenient for me.

Had a rear wheel bearing go on mine car was 6 months old, it was off the road for a week at the dealers and a car was provided through skoda for the full time.

The car is a Nov2012 Blackline so i presume its the latest information it certainly states 48hrs only. My point was if you continue on your hols/long trip whatever and your car is fixed 2-3 days later are you expected to return the hire car to pick up your own asap, within or near enough to the 48hrs which of course is impractical/costly.

I am covered for 48hrs on my car insurance anyway so this cover is useless, its only designed to get keep you on the road whilst they try to fix your car,it does not seem to cover the scenarios i have outlined.I will check this with Skoda assist.

That's worrying. I've just bought a 2012 black line. I'm interested in the outcome. Hope you get it sorted quick.

Just got intouch with Skoda assist, its 48hrs max cover doesnt matter where you are, after that its down to how good your dealer wants to be with you,or not. In other words if you are taking your car on holiday you need AA ***** cover. The Skoda assist is very basic cover. I bet all manufacturers only offer the same crap cover, so at least we are aware now.

ahh again a bad news!!!
