I've given up for the day. I'll give it another go tomorrow! Strange though how the firmware worked fine but the maps aren't downloading.

    It usually runs for about 5-10 minutes after switching the engine off to help cool the unit down before switching itself off.

    You can usually go straight to it. I went from a very ancient 1004 to 3814 in one go. I'm not sure of the functionality on 2724. I think it might be new enough for 7digit searching. As I recall from

I don't want to worry you though.

Did mine the other day, all went fine, took just a shade over 50 minutes.  I got out of the car, shut the door and went off to do something else while it did it's thing.

I did the same as you but after leaving it for over 3hrs and a 45min drive, I got nowhere. I'll try a reboot and try again.

Finally! I did the reboot trick, re-entered the Maps disc and guess what............ It now works yeah!!

 

An upto date Columbus WOO HOO!! :happy:

    I won't liken the Columbus to a Windows PC, but the three-finger salute does seem to solve most problems.

    Just read through this through this thread,trying to find info on updating sat Nav on a 2012 Octavia,is it a disc you can buy of eBay or if not where from, thanks.
