Build week

Featured Replies

Dealer just phoned to tell me I'm build week 40, but says apparently most builds have been brought forward a week or 2 recently.

So that's 30th sept - 6th oct.

Anyone else around then

I haven't heard from my dealer yet (due to on Weds), but I'm hoping for around the same time. I switched the order to the new Rio Red metallic over the weekend, so I'm not expecting it to be before Week 37.

My dealer sent me a "screen dump" of the Skoda site they use & although I had been told my build week is 33, this form shows an original build week of 36. So mine has moved forward 3 weeks. There is nothing to say it won't change again when the factory starts production again next week but I remain hopeful. I ordered June 26th.

My provisional week is still 36 for the estate, but I ordered a sunroof and steel grey, so it's anybody's guess

I've got sunroof too do should be ok

Hi Guys,

How's things?

How soon after order did you hear from your dealer and get a build week, ordered mine Saturday and they were going to put it on the system that day or today...

Kindest Regards

Pullers

Pullers01, I ordered 22nd May and still haven't got a confirmed build week only a provisional. I had to chase my dealer for that.

Ryan, I'd check that it's a confirmed build week, as I've been told that a build week is only finalized about a month before.

I ordered on Thursday just before closing

Mine is also week 40

Thanks all, hopefully get a week/provisional week soon than. Dealer did say it could be earlier than October but that'd would probably be worst case. Only ordered Winter Pack, Black Pack, colour maxi and spare wheel so shouldn't be to complicated....

RSMike what did you order

I ordered vrs combi in white with heated seats and windscreen etc

What about you Mike, did you have to chase your dealer for a build week? How soon after order did you get told.

I normally try get the demo cars but went brand new this time so am a bit in the dark as to what happens next...

I kind of knew what I wanted so the salesman done the paperwork and said sales manager would order it and I'd get weekly updates...feel bit lost now :-)

  • Author

This my 3rd new skoda,

Don't see the point in weekly updates, never had them.

If something changes then yes update me, otherwise don't see why I would need told weekly its not ready yet

See your point Ryan, just new to me I guess.

Just excited and nice to know what stage in the build/transportation it is

  • Author

Yeah I agree, when there is something to tell I would like told.

You would think manufacturers would make use of this and give you updates via email/social media/or website.

They could show you pics of your actual car in manufacture really easily and automatically

That would be fantastic - to be able to see your actual car in production and at what stage, sure there's someone with the knowledge.

The VW website suggests you can type in your order number and track your cars/orders progress online
