1.8 TSI fuel filter - fitted for life?!?

Featured Replies

I have spoken with SUK today about the fuel filter for my 1.8TSI and they informed me it is fitted for life and never need replacing. I can't say i've heard of fit for life filters before and was very surprised!

Is it worth replacing it as the part looks like it is less than £20. Is it a DIY thing? I did it a few times on my BKD 2.0 PD

Thanks

I think that, in general, unlike diesel engines, petrol engines have "for life" fuel filters. Of course, the dealers/manufacturers would regard life as meaning something over 100,000 miles.

Thanks. Having driven diesels for the last 9-10 yrs petrol is a bit of a dark art again to me.

I would have thought it was good practise to replace, they're hardly expensive.

If I can work out where it is and get some axle stands I may do it myself.
