  • Most probably bore people to death reading this but others have done it   Current List of Mods ( as far as I can remember)   Exterior   Octi Wheels (16”) Black & Blue (For Summer) VRS Wheel

  • You have a level of enthusiasm for your Fabia that is only possibly matched by Jason and his mongrel. For every thing you've added to yours he's removed something from his. :p  Always liked your ca

  • Development of the Rear of the Car   As mentioned earlier the first mod to the rear was the addition of a removable tow bar. Followed by some rear screen tinted film. I then removed the rear wiper

Some info were too buy VRS peddle? Picture? Marcus from Norway

Interior LEDs

Anyone who knows me or has seen the car properly will know I am obsessed with LEDs. Even my house is LED lit up (12 Watts for the whole house)

So the interior lighting had to change.

The interior of the car is very dark, more so in my case as I have dark tinted windows, I first changed the front light to a W8 light

As seen here

I decided that there was not enough light in the rear, so these went in

And a full view of the rear of the car including the extra LEDs in the middle.

The Dash has been changed a few time in the past as you will see from the following photos

Finally settling on this

The rest of the interior also got the LED treatment

As can be seen from and early photo with the interior lights on making the foot wells white

To a later one without the Interior lights on which changes the foot wells to be blue

Also in the above photo you can see my attempt at more ambient lighting in the door panels, a better picture below

Puddle light have also been done including extra red door warning lights

The puddle lights also do a good job of lighting up the front foot wells when the interior light is on.

Also dug up an old video I took

Karl I think I need foot well lights aswell now. The rear interior lights are nice too. Shows how small things can all add up and make a big difference.

Awesome thread Karl, spoke to you last year at the National Meet and your enthusiasm made me want to do a lot more with my car despite its early problems. Will keep an eye on this one!

Yeap rear internal lights would be great actually. Its so dark in the back especially with tinted windows

Haven't posted anything on here for a while - reason being haven't really done anything to the car this year apart from it's 6 monthly oil change.

Normally by now it will have been fully cleaned and polished ready for Castle Combe this weekend, as it is I will be lucky to get round to swapping over to me  low profile wheels and tyres ! let alone lowering it as I normally do for track.

Anyway just thought I'd post this video clip up that I took this morning

How low can you go !!!

Had a weekend break trip to Norfolk Broads 300 odd miles up and back, went to work yesterday and forgot to fill up, first time I had seen the trip reading 0 miles to go.

By the time I got to the Petrol station I had covered another 11 miles so 674 miles on a tank !

Hopefully see some of you guys at Combe

Karl

See you at Combe karl :) impressive mileage too

See you at combe. Where jealousy is sure to over come me! Yours is one of those list that everyone has, and you have done!

Does your tuning box actually come with an off switch? Or did you do that?

Does your tuning box actually come with an off switch? Or did you do that?

Sorry only just spotted this, Tuning box did come with an 'off switch', just an extra lead that once connected to earth makes the box pass through the engine management signals. Idea was I believe to be able to switch off the unit for servicing.

On a side note most probably no more updates to the Fabia as I will be starting to strip it down and reverting it back to standard :( ( well almost ).

Karl

eh! What? Why?

Oh Karl that's a real shame. Will you be keeping the fab or moving on?

Not such a good update! :(

You've done well with it though. What car you thinking of getting next?

Where did you get all of your chrome trim from mate??

Lee

Should have elaborated - it will be 5 years next month and its time for a change.

Charlie

Moving on I'm afraid, done as much as I can to it with out spending money on the engine etc. So starting to strip it down to sell on as I will never get back the money I've spent on it. Got most of the parts to revert it back to standard, but some bit will have to stay on.

Dan

No not such a good update - with out a doubt one of my favourite cars ever and will be missed but **** happens LOL.

Martyn

My norm is just to look around and get good value car that will do the job and run it for about 3 year then change it. In fact I was actually looking at a diesel Fabia estate when I spotted the VRS and made the mistake of buying it LOL.

Skodalad

Chrome trim was from Lidl.

Karl

Shame to see this but i know you were talking to me last July about changing it, so you've nearly gone another 12 months with it.

thats a shame Karl :(

It's fair enough. I had my Mk1 vRS for 3 years and while my only upgrade was brakes I'd learnt enough from it. It was my first (in relative terms) "quick car". I could have fiddled with it but the deal came up for the Mk2 and went for that. I'll have had the Mk2 for 3 years in September but have upgrades incoming. Going to keep it at most 4 years then I'll switch to RWD

Yes John, did think of changing it last year but still kept it, might still have it for a while yet depends how well it sells.

It is a bit of a shame Dave but all got things come to an end - 50 this year so getting on a bit now need a comfortable ride LOL.

Did my share of modding a long time ago grew up with Mini's and MK1 Escorts even owed a thing called a Matra Simca Bagheera which I took round Europe when I was 19, the good old day when you could only get done for speeding was if they caught you LOL

Time to take it easy now

Karl

I see where you're coming from, Karl. Had mine 4 1/2 now. Was thinking of changing then changed my mind again. I think this'll be the last year though, I want a Roomster :mmm:
