Opinions - 3 or 4 spoke MFSW

Featured Replies

As per title, would like opinions on wether the 3 or 4 spoke sterring wheel is the better option.  I hadn't even given it consideration till browsing through the brochure last night looking forward to picking up my new yeti. The 3 spoke looks like it might have more options for hand position and it's what i'm used to in my fabia vrs.

Not too late to add it to my order.

Cheers

I had the four on the previous Yeti and a three on the new one, prefer the three spoke. For me it gives a slightly better hand position. That said I was quite happy with the old one.

3 - much nicer grip!

3 spoke for me as well. Very comfortable grip.

I too had the 4 spoke in my previous Yeti, but prefer the 3 spoke in my new L&K.

Same here, liked the 4 spoke on the Elegance but prefer the 3 on the L&K.

Thanks all!

I had the 3 spoke on my first Yeti, and the 4 spoke on my current Yeti.

The 3 spoke is a very nice grip.

The 4 spoke is slightly narrower in grip, and for me blocks out less of the speedo and rev counter.

On balance I'll save the money on my next yeti ,and go for another 4 spoke.

As Mariek says," Personal preference."

I only use the round bit,so the number of spokes doesn't matter. ( as long as there's at least one, or the round bit would fall off )

Do you get a discount for having less spokes  :giggle:

Sorry I couldn't resist. Off to the corner I go...

I like using be round bit as well

My car was supplied with a 4 spoke MFSW.

I have a rather special 3 spoke MFSW fitted now though.

Really? You just MUST tell us about it some day Mike...

Quite the opposite. As per normal with cars/bicycles etc the less you get the more you pay.

I was waiting for you to show up.

I didn't make the comment because I was jealous at all. I'm not. Well not much, anway...

The 3 spoke has the thicker molded bits just above the top spokes that nicely fit your hand.  That I like.  BUT when I get tired on a long drive I like to hook each hand over the bottom two spokes on the four spoke wheel.  Gravity keeps your hands there and it is less tiring.  So in my book, for how I drive, the 3 spoke has FEWER option than the four spoke.

I do the same thing if the steering wheel has 4 spokes. I like to hook my thumbs in the notch where the bottom two spokes join the round part of the steering wheel and I can also rest both my elbows. ...one on the side panel on the door and the other on the mid-console.
