How much for Red paint !

Featured Replies

We are going to get a 170 diesel DSG 4x4 Yeti, as it can do the job of my wife's one (she needs auto) and mine (power, 4x4 and towing track car).

Problem is, we want red and well specced.

Obvious choice is an L&K with a few options added.

But not available in red.

So we may have to go for an Elegance with lots of options to get to the same spec.

Figure doing that, the red paint is going to cost us around £1,200.

Not very impressed. :wonder:

By the sounds of it, if you haven't already placed the order, then it is too late......

Really struggling to be honest.

We have two great cars that have now already been through the worse part of the depreciation, baring in mind they have quite a lot of extras.

Both fully paid for and so just basic running costs.

Thing is, we don't need two, but neither will do on it's own due to my need for towing and my wife's need for DSG.

Buying new again means going through the plenty of options price drop again, plus sounds like we may have missed the boat with getting a pre-facelift.

Probably better to just keep both and see what the FL looks like...

You could always get a Dacia Duster lol

They are all well and good, but there isn't an auto version, unless I have missed something.

I was kidding. I don't think the duster would meet any of the criteria.

Would it not be cheaper to get an L&K in White and the wrap it Red?

Or cheaper still, why not get a white car and two pairs of rose coloured spectacles? :giggle:

I've seen a couple in white this week.

They are horrible.

Check out this wagon:

Why don't you just stick a tow bar on the GTR -it's 4 wheel drive, auto and should be just about able to pull a caravan -you should be able to fit something like this in an afternoon with a hacksaw and some gaffer tape and mending plates

I'd suggest get a BLACK one and wrap everything BELOW the roof in red.  That way you save the cost on wrapping a whole car (since you skip the roof) AND for paying to get a black roof.   :giggle:

I've done the wrap thing, not again thanks, and the GT-R can't tow anything as it's not rated too... and the handbook explicitly says NOT to fit a tow bar.

Besides, I'm selling that too! :)

I had thought about red with black bits for my next Yeti (probably March 14) but would like L&K spec too.  Love my current white Yeti (with its black wheels, grill and mirrors) ... but it is my second white car in a row so fancy a change.  Next best option would be a silver L&K and get my dealer to do the mirrors and grill in black as they did with this one.

All this could be academic as who knows what changes the facelift will throw up ... maybe a black pack like they now offer on the Octavia vRS!  (Probably not).

I found a photo of the rustiest tow bar I could find and and that you should set to the GTR with gaffer tape and a hacksaw, Johann suggested that you have a black roof as we know how you like to cook in the sunshine and we're just not managing to get a rise out of you.

Must try harder  :bandit:
