Turbo inlet pipe diameter?

Featured Replies

Hello,

Does anyone know the airbox inlet pipe diameter on the Fabia vRS?

Cheers

:)

Nope - but you may be able to work it out from the Cupra PD160 intake as that appears to be the max that will fit.

Dunno if it's got the sizes in the fitting article, if not soz :(

Would be really really helpfull

:D

Soz not a clue here - might be worth ringing one of the tuners though :)

The airbox end of the inlet pipe is a rectangle with rounded corners (not circular) 80 mm x 57 mm internal dimensions. This is the same for both standard intake pipe and Cupra intake pipe (they both fit the same airbox).

The radiator end of the standard intake pipe is another rounded rectangle with interior dimensions 64 mm x 54 mm. The Cupra pipe's radiator end is much bigger. Because the Cupra intake is more of a funnel, the air entering the airbox with a Cupra intake fitted must be at a higher pressure than with the standard pipe in order to get more air (per second) through the same size hole.

...Just seen your correction. The turbo inlet pipe will be the same diameter as the end of the MAF, but I don't know what the figure is.

Maybe JASON will be able to help... as he has a turbo thats not on the car atm.....give devonutopia a shout :)

Right what I want to fit to the end fits diameters:

60, 65, 70, 77 (mm)

Will these fit to the turbo inlet pipe?

Thanks :)

Will get measurements a.s.a.p. :) Might be tomorrow. :)

Could someone amend the thread title? :)

Sorry to bump again, but does anyone know, techie or anyone?

Need to know if its one of the following:

60, 65, 70, 77 (mm)

Or do you think its larger?

Thanks again :)

Well, I know the inlet manifold intake is around a 50mm bore, and I believe the intake to the turbo? (pipe that comes in from the bottom, right?) is around the same, as my FMIC uses the same bore for that bit too.

Hope that helps. :)

Cant you just measure the intake for the turbo for him J. Or is it fitted now?

Yeah, I can do that as the new turbo is awaiting re-installation after having to be removed to be spun through 180 degrees. I'm pretty sure though that the bore is around 50mm, and the actual diameter of the rubber hose used to bolt on to the intake, around 58mm?

Can confirm at the weekend I hope. :)
