Octavia Estate 2.0 Tdi DSG L&K ordered!

Featured Replies

lucky you, my Octy I L&K got flettened by a tree last night ina storm, the firefighters were amazed that I walked out of it unscathed. Problem now is that a new L&K can't be here until February and Halifax Insurance won't even give me a courtesy car until they decide what lousy settlement they'll give me for a trashed L&K :finger:

Holy ****. Sorry to hear that mate.Looks like luck was on your side though. I trust the photos will follow.

Hi Guys, I'm on the look out for some more advice. I see that Golfturbo is thinking of retro fitting Sat Nav and this got me thinking that you chaps seem to know more about ICE than the Main Dealers. I hopefully will have ordered an Octy by the end of the week and I am having Sat Nav as a factory fit. (I have no sense of direction and get lost easily  also doing a lot of miles a year means I get lost an awful lot!) Does anyone know if the Sat Nav has the same speakers and general sound quality of the standard Elegance’s ICE? I used to have a Mk4 Golf that had Sat Nav and the sound system was better than the standard cars system owing (I was told) to having a superior amp. Any ideas?

Thanks to much great advice I decided not to bother with the 17” wheels even though they look lovely.

Many thanks

Lady E

Hopefully.. Elegance, 2.0 TDi, DSG, ESP, TPM, Sat Nav, Xenons and Maxi Ditty do dah

The car is now at the dealers, it's in the paint shop on Friday to have the front bumper spoiler sprayed and fitted, the rubbing strips colour keyed and the rear bumper colour keyed. Tints being done on Monday so hopefully I should be able to pick up Tuesday or Wednesday!

It's been a long wait, can't wait to see some pic's.

It's been a long wait.

Tell me about it!

It'll be worth the wait, by the sounds of it

Hang on in there, not long now....

Soz' date=' got carried away with the Christmas spirit (hic!) Great result for Golfturbo though. Can't wait for mine to come. He (I think Octys are boys) gets born in 10days time, just hope I don't regret buying an auto.[/color']

Well the day is nearly here! I collect the car at 2pm tomorrow! Can't wait! The guy at the dealer says it looks really good with the colour keyed bits!

It's beena long time coming, all I'm worried about now is getting up to Ellesmere Port to collect it! I travel on the A417/A419 through Glouctershire and it seems there is a little bit of snow in the area! I need to be in North Wales an 9am tomorrow so it looks like ti might be an early start!

Have any easy drive, possible pack a blanket and flask, just take it easy in that long awaited new car:thumbup:

Don't panic, I'll go and get it for you - I'm only 20mins from Ellesmere Port ;)

Steve

Leave now! Better safe than sorry.

I've done just over 200 miles in it so far and am really loving the entire car, the DSG is supurb. 4 hours driving non stop and I got out very relaxed!

Nice motor mate. That stone grey colour really sets it off. Health to enjoy.

One question. What the hell are you doing logged on here. Your'e either out of diesel or not easily impressed.

Let's say 9.5 hours total driving today is enough for me!Plus I did almost run out f diesel on the way home, had 5 miles left as I pulled into the garage at the bottom of my road!

Averaged 48.6mpg in the 225 miles to tonight which on a brand new engine with the DSG box, I'm well impressed with!

Can I ask why you picked Mitchells ??

How do you rate there service ??

I only ask as my boss has just bought from them, and if I manage to sort my finances out I may well buy from them myself.

The car looks absolutely fantastic -- the engine will free up a bit with miles then you will really have some fun -- the DSG and 2.0TDi engine is a really good combo -- at least in an Audi A3 - have not driven a new octy yet :(

Looks great - well worth the wait I'd say

Really glad you're pleased with it, as it's been such a long time coming....

Oh - and you can change the start of your sig now! ;)

It looks stunning, oh bugger, why didn’t I go for Stone Grey and the 17” Alloys.:orb_bonk: Nice registration number too.:orb_cool:

At least you went for the DSG and you can change your wheels if you like. A re-spray might be a bit ambitious though. I'm slowly learning how to get the best out of the 2.0 Tdi engine and the 6spd manual box but it's tricky. I couldn't afford the DSG really and considered it to be cheating but i'm not so sure now.

I just love golfturbo’s, Sport front bumper, it looks fab. As for the wheels, I think it would cost too much to change them and therefore replace the tyres as well. :( Never owned an Auto, although I’ve driven then before, it’s just I love the DSG gearbox, just wish it had flappy paddles! By the way johnnyc, were you hinting previously, that you look like George Clooney?;)

They were spot on with service, even had a coffee with the owner when I collected my car!

Fred Arnell is a nice guy and will do everything he can to help out. Good team and well impressed, even with a little "glitch" in my original order they have been fantastic! If you buy a car from them and visit them on a Saturday they will wash your car every week for the time you own it - FREE!!!

I went to them as my MD knows Mark Mitchell (MD of Mitchells) well and we like to support people we know! We will be ordering 2 more Octavia Estates for delivery 1st March from them.

If anyone is interested in the same spec car as mine but with a manual gearbox give them a shout, they might well be able to help you out! ;)
