Nice spec!

Had to wait 12 weeks for my Fabia & the last 3 weeks seemed like 3 months.

But it's worth it in the end - couldn't stop grinning for months!! :D

lots of toys you have there :)

Thats going to be a very nice car. If you dont want to wait you can swap for my elegance :D

Hi golfturbo,

Sounds very similar to the spec I am looking at.

Can I ask what the price was all in? - trying to find the best source and price expectation.

Cheers,

As I do 30k + each year I have gone for it on a lease, all in was £540 per month includes full maintenance (tyres, servicing etc) & breakdown cover.

Although I'm getting it through a lease company I was able to specify which dealer I wanted them to purchase from, I chose Mitchells Skoda ' Cheshire Oaks, give Fred Arnell a call on 0151 3475401 he should be able to sort you out a good deal!

Cheers

Well my car is on the boat on it's way over to the UK, however I have a delima....

I ordered DSG and the car that's on the boat is Manual, I ordered the audience and the car on the boat doesn't have it! Basically having checked with the dealer I can see their order form has been completed correctly but when it was processed at MK they screwed up. Overall the responsibility lies with the dealer and I'm now not sure what to do....

I have basically told them I will accept the car if.... They retrofit the Nexus Sat Nav to the car FOC, this is a £1350 cost option from the factory but from a dealer it costs more than 2k for parts alone. I don't think this is unreasonable as the car I will be recieving isn't what I ordered and there is very little else they could add to it to improve it considering the spec.

Only other laternative is that I refuse the car and re-order, trouble with that is that it's another 3 - 4 month wait for a special order car. If I go down this route then the dealer will have to supply me with a car whilst it is on order as I hopefully have sold my A4 this morning.

I'm just not sure what to do!!! The excitement of getting a new car is now getting taken away even before it's delivered :(

The new L+K is stunning :)

Great car, you wont be dissapointed.

Jeepers. Won't be as fast as my Elegance though with all that extra gear. He he.

You've gone to town there. Look forward to the piccies. Haven't seen an OctyII in stone grey yet.

I had a similar problem. I ordered an L & K DSG estate with the 1.9 tdi and the dealer accidently ordered the 2.0 tdi engine. I had the choice of re-ordering the car and having to wait another three months or accept the 2.0 upgrade at cost. I had begun to regret ordering the 1.9 anyway so it turned out to be a blessing and the new car arrived last Tuesday.

So far I'm really pleased with it. Looking forward to seeing what it can do when it's a little more run in. The DSG is brilliant. I'd only test driven the manual before and it's well worth the extra. I didn't think that the audience upgrade was worth £285 so I have hooked an ipod upto the stream via a dension Ice-link, much better than mp3's on disc. I'll post some pics when I get the chance.

How easy was it to fit the dension link and does it affect the 6 changer CD player at all? I have ordered an Octy 2 with Stream radio and need to connect my iPod while retaining use of the multichanger CD for my SO!

Such a silly omission by Skoda to omit an Aux in input - Ford have one in the glovebox on the Mondeo and it works great.

The new octy's with stream and audience head units have an aux input as far as I know. You turn on the aux via the menu. After that yopu can select the input source in the usual way. It doesn't affect the autochanger operation either.

If the dealer will supply you with a car while you wait for another one, I'd definitely go down the route of making them re-order it. There's no point in forking out (or paying company car tax on) a car that will always leave you feeling slightly disappointed. I would definitely not accept a manual instead of the DSG - that's a huge change!

I'd hang on and get the DSG myself. You must have decided to go down the DSG route over the manual when you ordered it, so why settle for second best and put up with a dealer/Skoda UK error?

As an aside, saw a new Octy Estate on the M6 yesterday and thought it looked brilliant, so with your spec that's gonna be some Skoda :D

Ok, so as it stands now, new car being ordered tomorrow. I'm flying up to the dealers on Friday to pick up a loan car for about 8 weeks (they are pushing the order through with skoda so it will be quicker than normal). My dilemma now is colour, originally opted for stone grey, but just noticed that the Blue Storm is now metallic and not a flat colour as per the original brochure!

Anyone have any pictures of the blue storm, or failing that the flamenco red? Just had an A4 Avant delivered today in Garnet Red, it looked amazing!

Eventually got round to taking a couple of pics this evening. The ice link was pretty easy to fit, just unplugged the multichanger from the back of the stream and replaced with the ice-link plug so of course the multichanger no longer works. The cd in the head unit still works if you need to to play cds in the car.

So does this dennison link work with the Audience OK? Might be an option instaed of a phatnoise...

Far easier to fit and you can take your sounds with you. Those phatnoise catridges look like something from the 70's.

I would be very suprised if the ice-link didn't work with the Audience, they are pretty much the same unit. After emailing Dension I got the Ice-link compatable with the VW RDC 300 headunit currently fitted to several of the current VW models as the stream and Audience were not listed on their database. It would seem that the hu electronics are pretty much generic throughout the current VAG range. The electronics part of the Ice-link actually had an Audi sticker on it.

Did you have to remove the radio to get to the connector?

Yes you will have to remove the HU. All current Audi/VW/Skoda use the same protocol for their autochangers and in most cases use the same panasonic sourced 6 disc changer. That means you can use the same adapters too! Good to know if you have an Audi and you notice the Skoda adapter is cheaper as you can go for that instead etc.

Am thinking of much the same spec as you, but colour is a problem (the brochure's colour swatches are useless). Our Octy Mk 1 is Cayenne metallic - brilliant!

Can anyone suggest something in the current colour range that has a bit of zing and zip and pizzz and is not the awful standard German silver metallic?

Oh, and by the way, let us know how the car actually turned out - up to your expectations? We won't be buying ours for a couple of months, so you'll be ahead of us - tell us what to watch out about!

Incidentally, hired a new Mercedes A160cdi at Glasgow yesterday. An enormous improvement on the first generation Easyjet version (of which 've had far too many), much more refined, but still.... dead? (Electric steering - I hope the new Octy isn't so Dumb). A relief to get back to our Mk 1 Octy, where you feel you are still in contact with the road.

Car is actually in production on 07/11 due to a dealer balls up and the original car arriving in manual form! Looking forward to it though!

Only another week till it hits theproduction line, 3 weeks till its then with the dealer, they then have to colour key it and fit the sport front bumper. Then the tints and I'll finally be able to drive it away!

That's gonna look brilliant mate - it'll be worth the wait I'm sure

Will await some pics when it arrives....
