my new vrs estate is now home but....

Featured Replies

Ahh, It was a decision made in a very short time. vrs has gone to a new home, don't make me feel guilty selling it, it was one of the best cars I've ever had, but I have a new friend now, a v6! :)

What...????? What happened to vRS..? Are you planning to have a family in the near future..? I love the Superb but me reckons it's too big for a man like you :giggle:

Congratulations on the mk3

Had a test drive in one today and it is certainly nice and with only a couple of things that I considered worse than the Mk2 FL

Also plugged the vag com in but most of the modules had no coding info at the minute, so the cornering fogs may have to wait if they are not activated by the dealer

What are they?

Nah, no family intentions haha! I part ex'ed my vRS! V6 was tempting :P

What are they?

1. The Handbrake trim, looks cheap and poorly thought out

2. The Climate info doesn't display on the Radio screen (possibly could be in the set up menus)

not a complaint but the view from the mirrors is not as good and they don't fold that far in

Whoo a beuaty

Collected my new VRs estate today & im really chuffed with it.

However just got back from my first drive in the dark with it & have noticed

my cornering fogs are not working. Anybody got any ideas as cant see anything on the maxidot & have tried activating them with the indicator stalk like I could on my old fl.

See my thread posted today, dealer desktop alert sent out today. Cornering fogs was a 'typo' no one is getting them.

That could prove to be an expensive typo as I entered a contract & now have my vehicle with these bits missing. May have to have a word with my friend who works in trading standards as I'm sure you cant sell something saying it has xyz & 5hen just supply it without.

No but missed a couple of calls from them yesterday as I've been on nights so that may of been what he wanted to say

  • 2 weeks later...

Any news on this Gleemin? I have ordered my RB Mk3 vRS estate today (to replace the FL). I was hoping the Mk3 would have cornering fogs as my FL did....

In my vRS owning day you could only get a vRS in 3 colours, black, red and yellow. While I like the metallic blue in the current vRS, I think silver is just plain boring. I fell in love with the blue vRS in the dealers when we were buying the wife's Citigo, but I am just not sure about spending over £24K on a Skoda.

Hkp, been told its a definite no to cornering fogs & been offered vouchers instead as it is a misprint in the brochure

Adding your complaint of item to the Octy Mk3 release this is fast becoming as much of a release disaster as the Rapid.

- Advertising functions on the car then saying they are not available. - Misleading

- Not having Cruise as std - Step back on the model.

- Not being able to set / adjust your lights for driving in mainland europe without having to pay the dealer to do this - Money grabbing.

- 0% already !!!!

How many more cockups will Skoda make

I have had Skodas for over 12 years now with the above & god knows how many more stupid things people will find when it comes to changing my car in around 2 years, a replacement vRS is now definately way off my list.

Hope you get this issue resolved & the driving experience continues to be what you expect.

Is it a diesel or petrol?

My petrol is due in 2 weeks-Race Blue /black grey interior.

Can't wait to get my hands on it.

vRS Keith-Wiltshire.

Why is 0% finance a mistake??? Do you want to pay more for the car than you have to????  Seems a rather stupid suggestion to me.  Sorry but I am a blunt person.

You right, it hasnt been the best launch in the world but as soon as I contacted Skoda Uk, they have gone out of the way to see if its possible to sort/retro fit but all the keep getting is a no from the factory.

hopefully once Ross tech get up to speed with the new model & VCDS is updated, half these little issues can be sorted anyway.

So far it feels a much better drive & more planted when pushing on. Big test will be at the weekend with the caravan hanging on the back all the way down to shoreham.

Vrs Kieth. Its a tdi with the black/red seats. Piccys are near the top of the thread somewhere

Stupid question but, have you read page 52 of the Manual ?

The CORNER function is switched on automatically if the following conditions are

met:

The turn signal is switched on or the front wheels are turned sharply to the

right or left.

The vehicle is stopped or moves at a speed of no more than 40 km/h.

The engine is running.

The daytime running lights are not switched on.

The low beam is switched on or the light switch is in the position [AUTO] and the

low beam is switched on.

The fog lights are not switched on.

Is that right?

You only get cornering fog lights when going less than 25 mph and when the fog lights are switched off?

Makes no sense whatsoever.

Plus in 24+ years of driving I've never had a problem with 'normal' fog lights, never needed to look round a corner with one.

Is that right?

yes thats normal. why wouldnt it be?

youre unlikely to be going around a 90 degree bend a lot faster than 25mph and thats what the cornering fogs are for.

and

if your fog lights are turned on (i assume for fog) then the cornering wont come on as they are already on!

The cornering FOG lights only come on when the FOG lights are turned off.

Why do you want fog lights to come on when they're off?

Why do you want fog lights to come on when they're off?

erm, for lighting corners?  Same as the seats, mercs and FL octavia do?

That's the whole point, that's how the cornering lights work. By using the fog lights, since you don't have swiveling light in the main cluster. Well, the new AFS Xenons do, but you get my point. :D
