Standard Perfomance Stats of the Fabia vRS.

Featured Replies

in what sense?

It was good in all the ways the 5 Turbo was, i.e. fast and light.

It was bad in all the ways the 5 Turbo was, i.e. flimsy and not screwed together too well.

no, but he wants to race me. i've already shown him this thread and all the performance stats but he wont have it.

Think in a drag race you'd beat him, but say start at 50mph in top and floor it you'd be a good couple of car lengths behind!!!

a friend has already raced him in his GT and beat him doing the same.

I bought a brand new Punto GT in 1996 on a P plate in Metallic Midnight Blue. Ran it for over 4 years - cracking little car. Added 15's and Chassis dynamics suspension but left the motor stock. I might have an old piccie somewhere.....

sounds really nice mate, a pic would be great

Here you go. Still on stock suspension and the 'ickle wheels look a bit er little by todays standards but was the dogs in 1998'ish....

My brother got rid of his punto sporting abarth, broom yellow, that was nice, i had a bravo and was always gutted that they never did a bravo abarth. He go rid for a 3ltr 406 coupe, that was a nice car (kept it for about three months before deciding it was just to much to run) now he has a ford escort k reg i think. Ohhh and a cbr600rr!!!!!

My brother ditched his 3.0 V6 406 Coupe for the same reason, he could watch the fuel gauge go down  nice car though

Sounds like the GT was rather more capable chassis-wise than the standard 90 model - I had one and loved it but getting any power down (even in the dry) was a tricky exercise!

Can someone give me the correct acceleration times for the Fabia vRS for the following ranges and in which gear it hits those numbers?

40-60mph

50-70mph

70-110mph

Thanks

3, 3, 5 I think.

looks really clean and tidy mate.

those wheels suit that car very well indeed. mine are only 16's from a Fiat Coupe 20V turbo.

I always liked the black alloys the GT's had as originals.

to be honest i doubt he has checked, i dont know if he even know about this site until i made this post.

cheers chris i registered before i even got the car

a friend has already raced him in his GT and beat him doing the same.

and ste didnt beat me cos he backed off at 120 when i was cruising past him ;)

May I propose the mods close this thread, it's obviously gone a little messed up ?!

Officially:-

0-62 mph in 9.6 seconds

128 bhp @ 4000 rpm

228 lb ft @ 1900 rpm

1/4 mile in approx 17 seconds

In reality' date=' the 0-60 time seems to vary between 8-9 seconds. 1/4 mile has been done in as little as 16.2 from a standard car IIRC.[/quote']

cool
