Just bought a 56' petrol vRS!

I'm now the proud owner of this beauty:

Hope you all approve. It was absolutely mint, the seller was a really genuine great guy, couldn't ask for a better person to buy a car from. It was rapid, so smooth, no rattles or noises, immaculate paintwork and interior, nice spec, but the mileage...35k!!

It's had a map and upgraded wastegate control valve so the readout was 251bhp and 313 torque! The parrot BT and aux also does USB and charges iphone and screen gives album art etc.

Few minor mods planned, famous last words! Here was my last one:

Great car but need a hatch, vRS offers more mpg and a more 'involved' driving experience IMO.

I said a few years ago I'd be back in a Skoda Octy vRS one day, here I am!

So it was you!

I rung up about this earlier, and was hopefully going to make the trip (220 miles) to view it in the next couple of days.

Had a good chat with Tim, sounds like you've got yourself an excellent example.

Enjoy :)

Hi Ethos,

Ah, yes Tim wasn't making it up then! He did mention you and the other 10 or so people that had called this morning! He's a really top bloke, I'm sure you got that impression over the phone. The car is really great (sorry, I shouldn't be rubbing salt in the wound!) and all being well I'll be picking up tomorrow.

I'm really sorry you missed out, I think it was actually 'First to get here, see it, WILL buy' that annoying phrase was true to it's word! I'm not surprised it created some interest, I mean how often do they come up at that mileage/age, SH, condition, spec etc at that price?! In fairness he did tell me I was the first person to call, he put the ad on 30mins before I called!!

I'm sure something similar will up soon enough for you buddy. How long have you been looking for?

Great looking car!

Hope she serves you well & good luck for the future.

FP.

Out of interest, what tyres are on the car currently?

Thanks Piggy!

Tyres on the rear are approx 5mm remaining Falken 912's and fronts are newly bought Avon ZV5's so still nice and spikey!

How come you ask?

Your old BMW looks tidy, is that a Z4?

Just curious really mate, as I've noticed a few people on here buying new vRS with tyres that don't really compliment the car at all. Still don't understand why people mix-match their tyre choices as well

M Coupe. I really like those.

Nearly bought one myself.

No worries Wardy, yes I agree with you. The one I've bought has what I would call average fairly decent tyres, Falkens/Avons/Vredistein/Uniroyal etc I put into that category.

It would've been nice to have had Good Year's all round but at least it's not a mix of accelera and other budgets! I think as long as it's one of the average ones mentioned above it better and the same tyre on each axle that's fine. Lets be fair most of us replace 2 at a time, it's rare all 4 need doing at once. Then if you get a puncture, grrrrr!

So I'm happy enough with the setup on mine, when the rears need doing I might match the front and get the ZV5's. I had ZZ3's and ZZ5's on the Z4 and they were pretty good.

Tyre talk, got we're an exciting bunch eh...!

haha very exciting :D !

Yeh I guess if they're half decent, that's not too bad. The difference between a set of average tyres compared with Goodyear ASY2's for example, is worlds apart! Just find it odd the previous owners don't buy premium for a performance car, especially one that's been remapped

Banzaiman it's a Z4M Coupe as grr666 says. It is quite easily the best car I've ever driven. It was a once in a lifetime thing, I saved up, bought it, kept for a year and thankfully nothing went bang and sold it for £800 less what I paid. Some more pics if you're interested...(any excuse!):

Those were the days...!

But yer, I see what you mean about the GY's...

"Ya pays ya money, ya takes ya choice"

Yep that's the one I used. Don't think I'll ever use anything but the ASY2's now, until the ASY3's are out of course :)

I speak from experience really... when I bought mine in February this year, it had Conti Sport 5's on the front (great tyres) and some of the worst: Dunlop SP Sport Maxx on the back. CS5's were worn out, so I knew I had to get some ASY2's for the front and then replaced the Dunlops with ASY2's a few months later and the difference was incredible

:)

Thanks! The estate looks pretty nice, although the remap kind of puts me off a bit...

I'll keep my eye out.

I agree with the tyre debate. When I bought the R26, someone had put 225/40/18 of an "okay" quality instead of 235/40/18 because they were much cheaper. One of the best handling FWD around? Meh, just stick any ol' tyre on it and change the size from factory- some people.

I couldn't have sold that BMW.

Me either, that colour is not my cup of tea but otherwise they are lush.

And nowhere near as common as the M3 either. Something special.

My dream car is a 911 4S but I'm a way off yet. :(
