W8 Performance - Hes done it again!

Featured Replies

I have just got my car back from the services at w8 performance! Rob smashed it once again.  I have had a g60 lightened flywheel and vr clutch, 3" downpipe and decat fitted.  then had a stage 2 remap with 4 bar FPR from Shark popped on.

why is this dude?    i know plenty of peoples running this set up and they have for a while.

I have this setup for over 90.000km without any problem with my pump

4bar FPR + stage 2

I'm sure I've read somewhere that Nic says a 4 bar fpr isn't really needed, I'm sure had a proper rant about other tuners doing it? Could be wrong though

I went for the 4 bar purely on research i have done and mates running one.  the over all feeling on the 3b vs the 4b is, the 4bar is better.   Granted its not "needed" as a stage 2 will be fine without it, but i wanted the 4b over the 3.

I simply asked w8-performance/shark for a little adaptation to the map to allow me to get the best out of it. The 4b vs 3b has always been a "scene" discussion, some say it makes no difference others say its great.

I have no comparison as i ran the 3b on the stage 1 map, but i tell ya what... the cars fecking rapid all the way up the revs, pulls and holds you in the chair quite nicely running the stage 2 and 4b fpr.

i can only assume going from that result and the fact i know Loads of dubbers alike, running it with no problems, its a Marmite mod.  As it happens... i do like marmite. :)

Raising base fuel pressure to 4bar on a stock fuel pump is like beating a dead horse, especially when fuel pump is old, it just can`t deliver more fuel and fuel pressure isn`t stable.Stage 2 SW usually see 1.4bar, combine that with 4 bar rail pressure and you have 5.4bar that stock pump has to maintain. @5800 rpm boost is usually 1.1~1.3bar and injectors are open fully giving maximum amount of fuel. Stock fuel pump according to net info has 105lph@3bar.

For example: Walbro gss341 gives 255lph@3bar but only [email protected], thats 30% less.

There is a good reason why all 225hp models have upgraded fuel pump over 180hp models.

I hear ya on this. and an uprated Fuel pump is something already on the list so worry not on that.   Knowing others running my set up, im happty to run it as it is till the time i get a better pump.  The car is a fast road car, maybe once a week its out.  If i was tracking it, i would be worried.

I respect your info and its prob right, but im happy with what it does, as do many others running it.  If its ok for revo, its ok for Gee man! : )

Just out of interest what power is it putting out now?

Don`t get me wrong, I`m not trying to bash anybody here. I`m just saying it`s pointless and can possible harm your engine.

AUQ engine has wideband lambda and can adapt fueling +- 25%, so by increasing pressure to 4bar you have raised fuel flow app.15% but without SW change, ECU will decrease fuel flow by the same amount. Just log block 032 and you will see what I am talking about  ;)
