Monte Carlo Tech TDi - new price confusion

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm seriously considering a Monte Carlo Tech TDi, after seeing the website offer:

http://www.skoda.co.uk/finance/finance-offers/fabia-monte-carlo-offer

but after speaking to a Skoda dealer he didn't have a clue about the offer, and when he got back to me he said there is no offer price for the 1.6 diesel version.

Any Skoda dealers on here, or anyone bought one recently - I've not driven one yet, but I believe they can be remapped to make them more responsive, and being a Rally fan there is a connection there!

Seems a lot of kit for the money - all the bits I'll need in my new job.

Otherwise it's back to looking for secondhand vRS Octavias or Fabias for around £6k.

Cheers.

There were supposed to be 1000 available & some left in some colours and no idea if in petrol or diesel,

if they are gone then that will be it.

A Dealer can check whats about.

What about a Monte Carlo Estate Tech TDI, just arriving at dealers and also possibly Limited Availability.

So how much is the 5 dr TDI and how much is the estate?

The dealer was useless and didn't seem interested. He just wanted to flog me a pre-reg petrol Tech!

I ma waiting for another localish dealer to call me back.

The way I first read the Skoda advert, both the petrol and diesel cars are available at the same price.  But looking closer, it says from £11.990.  But there is no mention of the diesel price.

Some might call this good marketing - I call it trying to con the customer.

Skoda need to be clear here.  Either say that both the petrol and diesel versions are £11,990 or quote the price for the diesel.  Just be honest and up front.

The Skoda promotion did show the price for the TSI & the TDI Tech when the TDI was available.

Media Press releases were correct mostly,

Some of the early ads and some dealers gave the wrong prices.

The thing to do is call Skoda UK and ask them if dealers are messing about.

No matter the cost,

if there are no new TDI Techs available now, and they are now  pushing the Estate Tech's.

Was the offer good on the pre-reg TSI Tech?

I think the pre reg ones were £12k but with 0% Apr.

Am I being daft not considering the petrol version? I start my new job on Monday and will probably be doing lots of motorway miles so assume the diesel will be much better. I like a squirty car when I'm around town.

I've already had a look on the broadspeed website and the Monte Carlo Tech is not listed.

I forgot to say that the dealer did say I could have a Monte Carlo Tech at the original list price though.... :wall:

The Monte  Estate Tech offer prices are in the first link in #2.

TSI £12,575

TDI £13,545

Wow - this is so confusing - the Skoda website says nothing about the Monte Carlo Tech Estate as far as I can see!

I have managed to find some prereg hatch Techs on Autotrader for £12k though - a red one locally and if I want a white one I'd have to go to Scotland! Can't decide which is the best colour! lol Suppose white is more "rally"?

I can cope with a pre-reg, but suspect I won't get the free servicing or finance deal offered on a brand new one.

Sorry but the only thing Rally about them is the name 'Monte Carlo' and the words 'Rally Inspired',

They are just cars with some extra exterior trim & a nice interior.

Nothing like a S2000 really other than they had a Fabia Body.

£11990 for TSI and £12995 for the TDI

I know that, I was just trying to help justify it to myself! I've not seen many TDi WRC or S2000 cars. ;)

A nice salesman from another local dealership just called and he couldn't have been different - he knew about the deal and said he would check whether a TDi was still available and get back to me.

Plenty 13 plate Monte TDI with delivery miles with an asking price of just under £11,500 on autotrader.

Colour choices, black etc

'Lookers' have some.

TDI Techs at £12,000-£12,500 again just asking prices,

With that being the asking price and the new reg is at the end of the month, so should get money off that.

I just ordered a white Monte tech tdi today in Oswestry for my wife. The price was £12960 including sat nav and blue tooth with 3 years free service. It's coming fist week in Sep on a 63 plate and after ours there are only 3 left.

Hope this helps

That must be 3 left available from Skoda unregistered.

Those 13 plate registered cars with, 7. 10,,13 miles are sitting at dealers already.

I'd seen that red one earlier but strangely the salesman at Stockport Lookers said they only had two white pre reg diesels in stock....

I think I prefer the red. To confuse matters further, the Rochdale sales dude reckoned their preregistration petrol techs were interest free.....but he didn't get anything else right unfortunately.

Stockport salesman said even though preregistration I would get free servicing, but that prob requires me taking their 7.9% PCP

Now if I could get a preregistration diesel tech with interest free and free servicing we'd be on to a winner....cake and eat it? Well maybe a brand new one at £13k with interest free would work out cheaper than £12k preregistration with interest? I need to do the sums..

Yes that does. Do you mind me asking what finance deals you were offered? Was 0% on the table so to speak?

I am awaiting delivery of a tdi tech hopefully this week, the 0% deal I was offered was on a standard monte tdi at £15,300 iirc, but there was no mention of 0% on the tech at £12995 (think you are correct at 7.9%), although it still works out cheaper per month than the standard monte carlo tdi (possibly more overall though). 3 years free servicing was included on both deals as well

I didn't get 0% it was the 7.9% pcp. The Oswestry rep was great, really knew the ins and out of the offer. They have now sold 12 tech's!!!

They gave me a good deal part x as well.

We worked out the deals on tech and non-tech when my mum bought one last month.

The tech TDI is indeed £12950 (or thereabouts- a few quid under £13k anyway).

You will not get 0% on a tech, that's only for standard monte Carlos.

The finance rate for the tech is 7.9%.

You will still get the free servicing.

We worked out the total costs and over the term of the finance the standard one was about £300 more expensive than the tech, and obviously had less kit.

When they say there is "only one TDI left" or whatever that does not mean in the country, it's in the particular dealers allocation.

As I understand it from what my dealer explained, each dealer group gets a certain amount of techs.

My dealer group had no tsi's left but plenty of people have taken delivery of tsi's on here since so that makes sense.

As a price from webuyanycar on a tech tsi £8,100
