My renewal is due soon so rang up my insurance company to ask what they were going to offer me. I had a nice surprise when they came back with a quote of around £850, the first time in my driving career it has been under the 1k mark.

I started asking about more modifications and to cut a long story short, come September, ALL planned mods, including a 2260 turbo will be insured for £1050 with a bhp limit of 280bhp. That’s cheaper than what I am paying now! I will have to read the small print but I was under the impression my whole car, including upgraded parts, will be fully insured. So if my turbo goes pop it’s covered.

 

The company in question is brentacre and they genuinely seem interested in cars, even got a little side tracked and started to have a conversion about each other motors

So if you are around 25 with a reasonable driving record give them a try

 

They class a fmic as cosmetic along with full exhuast system

I've recently insured mine with Brentacre. Excellent service and nobody else could beat their quote for me.

All they mean is its covered in a accident and will be replaced like for like or youll be given the value of the parts in the event of a crash.

Sky insurance offers the same level of protection replacing mods etc and have really low excess. I'm with them again found knew what they were talking about, even if I didn't.

I'm 20 well 21 last week and mine is £800 with mods declared. Haven't asked them what the hybrid will add to it but can't imagine it being much.

Do they insure my age group Joel?

I'm 22 payed £1900 last year. Boom just been quoted £800 from green light for my mk1 vrs...

Think mine was 470 being pretty much standard an 27 with a slightly blemished past

Mine is 420 with all mods declared like for like and insured for £5000.fully comp and insured to drive other cars too. With 3points, protected no claims,legal cover,windscreen cover and something else.

That was with my own insure company Adrian Flux.
