Spare Wheel Compartment: big enough for a full size alloy?

Featured Replies

Hey all. Simple one really; is the wheel well in the boot big enough for a full size alloy?

Thanks in advance,

Danny

If you do a search this question was previously answered with a photo of a 18" full size alloy in the wheel well.

Yeh, but I think was MkII rather than MkIII.

Sarge.

Well I saw one of the space savers in the boot of a VRS and there's no way a full size(225) would have fit in there. All depends in what tyre size your car has I suppose

If I decide to buy a new vRS I'd go for the "no cost - full size alloy spare" option. I'd then go and by a space saver from Ebay.

Like the idea of having a spare alloy in the shed in case things go wrong, I curb something etc.

from what ive seen they are the same price or dearer than the £75 option and then dont include the pack which has the jack and wheel brace.

Ive cocked up with mine as I was going to take my 16" steel out of my FL VRS and swap it with the gunge kit but have just found out the 16" wont fit the new VRS because of the larger front brakes.

as im on for a build week of 36 I cant change my order now so I may see if I can get a single 17" alloy with a tyre from ebay as the new VRS space saver is one of the carp skinny types.
