18 inch alloys 8 j

Featured Replies

Has anyone got 8 width on a vrs. Do they fit with 225 40 18, do they scratch car or make it really solid hard bumpy ride?

I realise the nrptunes are 7.5 but not many alloys this width?

Depends on the offset of the wheel. 8J I'd have thought would be fine unless its got silly offset...

It also depends on the design a little. I have 8x18" with a -38et offset ( RS 5 spoke copies to be exact ) no problems with running or scrubbing. On 225x40's ....no problems at all. A good wheel and tyre supplier will be able sort it out properly.  Some people here are on 8.5 x 19's with little or no problems at all.  The ride is a little harsher but most people do not really notice and just enjoy slightly sharper handling .

You'll be fine with 8's at ET45 and probably just about up to ET35.

You can run 9's at ET41 or even wider rear with stretched tyres.

Stick to 8 or 8.5 at ET45 with 225 40 18 and you'll be fine.

I've run 19x8.5 et45 with 235 35 19's and been fine.

Thanks so if they are wider will they stick out more and the 225 width tyre be too small. I changed wheels on a seat Ibiza and they were too wide and kerbed as the tyre sat like a tent angle not flat?

Yeah , you can go crazy with widths and offsets ( as previously mentioned )......but there is so much information available you should be able to avoid all that stress with a little thought and advice.
