Glycol-based brake fluid is hygroscopic, and absorbs water from the atmosphere. Increased water content lowers the boiling point of the fluid, which in extreme cases could result in it vaporising under severe braking. It doesn't matter how many miles you do, it should be changed on a time basis.

................very well saidt although unless you are going to be driving up in the mountains you could give or take a year but then is the issue of rust built up in the brake pipes  due to the water!!!!!!!!!!!!!
