1.6 tdi cr

Featured Replies

Hi guys

I have just ordered a Fabia Monte Carlo with the 1.6 tdi cr engine.

What I was wondering, is this the same 1.6 engine used in the mk2 octavia?

I was just interested because my friend who has an Octavia with that engine loves it and its been bomb proof.

Thanks

Same I think. Decent engine and very economical, I had the Octy 1.6

Nice one mate. The Octavia goes well too.

gwyn, it's a great engine. There are many examples of this engine with massive mileages on them already. My own local taxi firm has several Skoda's with the 1.9pd and the 1.6cr engine in them. A couple of the 1.6's have already covered in excess of 300,000 miles of trouble free motoring. They are on the go 24/7 and do lots of courier and airport runs. Interestingly, the 1.9pd's have covered near 500,000 miles and will be replaced later this year with more of the 1.6cr engined cars. The dealeship that looks after them currently has one of their 'well used' Octavia's on the forecourt. It has the PD engine in it and it has a genuine 400,000 miles on the clock. It's as fit as the day it was sold too. Interestingly, no dpf problems due to being on the go all the time at normal operating temperature.

That's really great to know and put my mind at rest. Only 2 weeks to go until mine, well my wife's is delivered.

Two versions of this engine

90 and 105hp

Now for the UK, i believe the Monte Carlo only comes as with the 1.6 TDI CR PDF as 105ps

george

according to skoda site, the 105ps is available, but the 75ps 1.6CR is also available with the note "stock vehicles only" so if you want built to order only option is 105PS
