Too Low?

Featured Replies

Just spotted this Polo parked near work, perhaps a little bit too low. Looks like the rear arches are rubbing on the tyres.

If it aint rubin it aint dubin.. Looks good :)

Maybe it rides as is,

but did you look to see if it has air ride suspension fitted, and can lift?

Makes me laugh when I see cars so low.  usually the front spoiler is all broken and mangled up.  Tyres also suffer from rubbing on the arches and quite dangerous, it's only a matter of time before the tyre goes pop and kills someone driving at speed.

I didn't see any sign of air ride. The front spoiler/splitter/manky bit of plastic was hanging off. There is a battered speed hump in the car park entrance over which the car probably had about 2mm clearance.

Looks like they need some vernier calipers for that one :)

In Angus/Tayside, Bill Stephens Yard at Brechin that does the uplifting as they are taken off the road and awaiting inspection has them sitting, & also waiting conformation of an Insurance Policy covering the Driver for driving the Modified car,

or insurance cover to be able to collect it.

if thats its normal running hight, just hope the police get that thing of the road soon. cars like that are a pain in the a**e.

Looks pants like that. Overkill!

It had about 20 magic tree air fresheners hanging up in the back.

Looks about right to me

We all know lowering is meant to improve handling slightly, but that would that do the opposite?

Never been a fan of modified cars going that low. Looks like the engine would be flooded every time it came across a large puddle.

I like low riders but that is a bit to low.

Some cars look good lowered a bit, others don't. Often [in my experience] they are virtually undriveable on normal roads, especially when lowered to the extent that this Polo has been. Up to the owner though I suppose, if it's safe and not likely to hurt anyone then do what you like to your own car. I personally don't really get it.

Aero design often looks right when it is right, that looks pointless.

Terrible...

Looks rubbish, but I'm sure it makes him happy.

Each to their own as they say!

I sold an exhaust to a guy with a MK 3 golf, it was so low that it took ages to get out the car park when he left!

Personally I think it looks a bit crap.

That wouldn't last a week round here being that low.

I cant imagine why, those things give me a headache.

Probably to drown out the burning rubber smell from the rear tyres.
