After picking up my vrs and subsequently poking every button theres stuff im unsure of...

In tge centre console theres a little handle that pulls up and down which appears to do nothing?

Button on the dash in front of the gearstick which looks like a flat tyre?

Im aware the owners manual probly covers this however its the only thing I didnt get

Thanks

Hi

If we're referring to the same handle (inside the jumbo/storage box behind the handbrake), when it is pulled up, it lets air into the storage box at the same temperature as the climate control. So, if you have something that might melt or you want to keep a drink cool, you can pull the lever and let the cool air in.

The button with a flat tyre is part of the tyre pressure monitoring system. When you inflate your tyres, you should press and hold it until it beeps. This will then allow the car to recognise if one of the tyres is deflating and a warning will flash on the dash. It works, I believe, by using the ABS system to identify if a wheel is turning faster than the others as it has deflated.

Hope that helps.

Handle in jumbo box - to have the box cooled by the air con or not I think.

Button on dash for tyre pressure monitoring - set tyres to correct pressure then press & hold button til beep. If pressures drop you will get a dash warning light

The owners manual is available free online as a down-loadable PDF file.  Just do a Google search.

in addition to if you inflate your tyres it needs to be pressed and held until it beeps when you get new tyres.

I found this out by traveling down the M4 and the light coming on, on the dash. This was a few hours after getting new tyres fitted

A link has been pinned at the top of this octavia ii subforum which takes you to the manuals. So you can keep a copy on your phone/computer etc which makes it easier to search for stuff.

Thanks guys big help suppose that also means changing wheels will flag the low pressure?

Maybe, its a bit random. TPS helps but don't rely on it. You still need to check your tyres regularly.
