Bye S5 hello . . .

I'd imagine a three year old RS5 makes more financial sense than a new S5.

As well as it being a nicer car. :)

I have to say, I really liked Nick's S4 Avant, wasn't too fussed by the S5, (looked like any A5 with more exhausts IMO) but this RS5 is luverly.

Yes it makes more financial sense, especially as I love changing cars.

In five months the S5 lost 12k. I had to negotiate hard to get more for my S5. The RS has already lost the biggest wedge and ill actually have some equity in it when I come to change.

  • Me looking like a goon: Pick it up on Friday. More pics to follow. It has a miltek on which really enhances the V8. On par with a C63 IMO.

  • I'm not prepared to jeopardise the warranty on the power train and drive train on such an expensive car. Plus the RS sounds bloody glorious, has ceramic brakes, bucket seats and many other options.

  • Kids are wwwwaaaayyyy to close for comfort lol

Very nice Nicky. Didn't see that one coming :)

I take it that you have plans already for a new car next year!

How does it compare to the S5?

I've just mapped my S4, so I reckon I could keep up in a straight line. Just never going to compete round corners or stopping by the looks of them brakes :D

We'd be neck and neck in a drag.

It's not hugely different to the S5 low down but up in the revs it pulls so hard and sounds glorious. Down shifts really make me laugh to myself.

I haven't pushed it hard in the bends but I reckon it will be much more composed than the S5 which was pretty damn good.

I'll get some proper pics and a write up posted next week.

I pick it up on Friday at 3pm.

Ooh the wait!

What you done with your V Spokes?

Yes, that's quite a hit.

Over £2k per month though... wowsers!

Same as a lot of new flashy cars though.

Your plan with the RS gives you a better car for less suicidal depreciation.

Good move. :)

Not to mention, it's more rare/special.

Sold them already. Helped with the additional deposit on the RS to appease the mrs.

When you put it like that. Ouch! Certainly cost me a bit of money.

I have done a few miles in them and they are great cars, and the sound!

Oh and on a carefull run you can see over 30 mpg!

30 mpg from an RS5? lol lol lol

He couldn't get near 30mpg in the S5...

Glad you are enjoying it Nick.

Got it from Bath Audi. They have a dedicated RS guy there. It has a miltek on so is insanely loud in dynamic mode.

Looking very nice.

Very nice Nick, best of luck with it.  Looks very smart.

Two more doors and it'd be almost perfect. ;):D

The RS 5 feels very much like your GT-R the way it goes about its business, much different to the S5.

It would be nice to think Audi took the 5 and made the RS the best they possibly could.  So I can understand the feeling.

Where as the S is just to fill a gap in the range.

Make it better than an A5, but not too good to tread on the toes of the range topper. :)

That looks incredible. The seats!! Wow they look like they keep you in place :)

The doors look pretty big too, you must have a wide garage. :)
