standard airbox or induction kit?

Featured Replies

Hi i am thinking about going back to using a standard airbox with panel filter over using what i have now which is pipercross induction kit purely on stories i hear on the induction kits not being very good on these engines what would you guys recommend im currently runng stage 2 hybrid 150 turbo which would be best for this cheers

Go back to the standard airbox, make sure you install a good quality paper filter element, I recommend Mahle, they have a larger total surface area and are more rigid. If you fit a cheap paper element it may get sucked in so don't do it. Make sure the new paper element is properly installed and that your airbox lid is a good fit with ALL the fastenings in place so that element is properly clamped in place.

I have problems getting my air box lid to fit correctly. One of the hooks won't clip in on it, is this a common problem? I've ran a k&n and a pipercross induction kit and I'm now on standard air box with pd160 and find it accelerates better so I'm going to go for a panel filter so I'd advise the same!

cheers for that seems the way to go

The fixing of the box can be an issue. I had to buy a second box as one of the clips broke :-(

Pd160 intake and Jabbasport cone in a box. Job done.

Any extra induction noise with above mod group1rs?
