Congratulations!

I'm waiting for similar machine. Also 1,8 TSI 4x4, DSG with lot of extras.

I've ordered also rough road package to get better ground clearance. Will not have ACA and power tailgate and parking heater.

Why you have not ordered heated windshield? Seems to be very practical feature in cold Norway.

I'm very interesting in your impressions after picking up car.

 Thanks. :)

I have had 2 Ford mondeos with heated front window, no one of them worked properly, so that's why I have ordered Parking heater instead.. :)

As you say it gets cold here in Norway, so I prefer to heat the hole car and not just the window.. ;) Beleve me, when its -25 degrees celsius it does not help to just heat the window.. LOL

I will keep you updated when I get the car.. :)

Yes, the parking heater is better solution. Here, in Poland, was -30 last winter. I think the heated seats may help as well. They work pretty quick.

Nice, if only they would sell that here. In the UK we can't buy a 4x4 with a petrol engine or with DSG or in Elegance trim.

thats going to be a nice car!  I just wish they could be ordered here, even better if they fitted it on the VRS too :(

Nice to see more Norwegians getting the 1.8 estates! :sun:  I've seen too few of these on the road. Mine's to be built next week, so my waiting time is almost over as well!

Luckily Heated front seats are standard inn all cars sold in Norway.. ;)

Too bad you cant get it.. :(

My dealer told me that after they got a 1.8 4x4 DSG in the dealers headquarters for journalist as a show/test car, they was worried about how they could manage to sell any vRS here in Norway. The price difference is too much.. :D

What specs have you ordered? :)

In Romania the difference between the 1.8 TSI 4x4 and the VRS is about 3k euro. What's it like in Norway?

In Norway a plain Elegance 1.8tsi 4x4 DSG estate is: 46.330 Eur

and plain vRS 2.0tsi DSG estate is: 59.745 Eur

So its 13.415 Eur more for the vRS

Holy s..t! :D

vRS here is 27,3k for a TSI DSG Estate, so less than half.

Cars are expensive here in Norway, but not as expensive as it sounds, A average Norwegian salary is a bit higher too i bet.. :)

I know, I've had a couple of Norwegian colleagues at work... They tended to be treated quite a little bit differently and in a good way for them. :)

Congratulations on your upcoming car, hope you will be pleased :sun:

Here in Sweden it costs VRS Estate / Combi from 30,536 EUR

4x4 TSI DSG Elegance from 27,769 EUR

I paid just over £ 36 000 for the 1.8 TSI DSG estate (and a few extras) here in Norway, which is a relatively low price considering the engine and the kit.  Of course, compared to the prices in the UK it's a highway robbery - especially when I hear about how cheap sportier cars are on Top Gear! But as Kabe111 said, our salaries are on par with the cost level, so I for one cannot complain

I also considered the 1.8 TSI, but went for the 1.4 since I thought the latter had enough grunt as it was. Of course, this eliminated the multi-link rear suspension, but if I want to go fast through the corners I prefer my motorcycle ;)

Our car is supposed to be built next week, and hopefully it will be ready for pick-up at the end of September :)

How is the EU partnership/tax situation resolved in Norway. Could you just pop into Finland and buy yourself half price car or would it be subject to prohibitive customs duties levied on private import as described?

In fairness having looked at average salaries even a cleaner stands to earn the equivalent of £30k in Norway, nothing wrong with that but its the salary of a reasonable professional job in the UK. Most cleaners here in the UK unless they operate their own business dont do a great deal better than minimum wage I'd wager.

Australia is a similar story nowadays, imported cars there are very expensive, so is the general cost or living but lots of people in fairly run of the mill jobs out there earn 6 figure annual salaries equating to very good UK money.

I can import a car, but I still have to pay the taxes, so its not that different. The taxes on the 1.8tsi 4x4 DSG are 17.649 Eur. The vRS 2.0 DSG are 24.461 Eur. And on top of that, probably some import fees..

Pluss In Norway we have 5 year warranty

It is not cheap to buy a car in Norway ... Correct me if I'm wrong, but the state does not like cars is because they have high taxes on cars and have ridiculously low speeds for roads.

Norway is a rich country, so probably they can build good highways if the state wanted it.

Our highways have a 100 km/h speed limit, whereas the ones in Sweden max out on 120 km/h - not a substantial difference... Most of our roads have quite good standards although some backcountry roads require some upkeep - but that's the case in any country where there are harsh winters that mess with the macadamisation of the roads. Finally, yeah Norway enjoys the benefits of having access to vast amounts of oil and other valuable resources, but we have chosen to spend the "gifts" without overspending them and thus end up like the Dutch in the 1970s.

Granted, some of the taxes on cars can be altered, but there are always kinks in the system that can be fixed....

Have you received the car?

I put in an order on friday: 1.8 4x4.

Do you have any photos?

How is it? Fast?
