DRL dimming

Featured Replies

Hi peeps anyone know what the coding is to dim the DRL whilst indicating.

Screen shot here of where I got to with DRL activated via vcds also enabled now via maxi dot. I have headlights and rear side lights on. Just want the dipped headlights to dim while indicating.

Don't think it can be done on a pre-fl. only on a FL vRS with LED DRL's

You want to dim the dipped headlight when you indicate!?

No car on the road does that.

The only lights to extinguish or dim when indicating are the LED DRL's, not headlight bulbs.

It also says everywhere I have read the rear lights won't work with drl on my model but they do.

The option is there so may be a way of coding it.

Seems I may have the wrong byte number above.

Looks like I need to try code byte 157ysevynu.jpg

U can't dim a headlight while indicating.

U can't dim a headlight fullstop. Its either on or off.

U can dim the DRL while indicating.....

Dimming only works on the facelift since its the only model with a proper DRL, pre facelift like the OP has the DRL is the headlight and as such does not and will not dim. The option might be there, but it will either do nothing or generate a fault code when you indicate. Just because the option is there, does not mean it does anything. The LE version of the vRS is sort of a hybrid and has the newer electrics and ECUs, but since it uses pre-fl components a lot of functions that can be coded directly with VCDS will not work.

Pre facelift the DRL option was very basic and basically turned on the headlights, that is all the DRL option does.

Two entirely different things.

It is physically possible to have rear lights on when running DRL.

It isn't however possible to dim a headlight.

On non vrs it can be activated not dimming but completly off the drl.

Not Audi like.
