I'm afraid i'm gonna have to bow out of this due to forgetting that my nephew is taking me to  the Green Hop Beer Festival this weekend family commitments.

Apologies one and all.

Thanks to those who came today

Yes, nice to see some fellow Skoda owners ;) and have a chat.

Shame so many dropped out, but still a good time was had. :)

Aye, great to meet a few of the SE owners over some grub. Bring on the next one!

How did the exhaust sound graham?? Could you even hear it??

A very pleasant lunch & nattering session, thanks to essexocty for organizing it.

It's nice to put names to faces too.

I'd still suggest peeking at the Lodge for the next one, not 'cos it's even closer for us (!) but the menu is longer & they have space to host car-club meets.

Roll on the next one!

Sorry couldn't make today peeps .... Forgot that I'd agreed to go to a wedding fair with the soon to be Missus and believe me when I say my life would not if been worth living if I hadn't if gone

Defo be at next one tho... Apologies again

Shark Fin Antenna.

Remember the conversation re these antennae fitted to non sat-nav equipped cars?

I've been doing a little research through the used vRS Octys on Auto-trader & it's not at all unusual on 2011 cars, but later registrations seem to revert to the normal style.

Maybe Skoda were unable to source anything other than the shark-fins, so rather than hold-up production waiting for the correct fitment build a batch of cars with what was available at the time.

It's not an unusual situation, Ford built a batch of Escorts with Capri steering wheels 40-odd years ago, & all the early Mk 3 Mondeos had electric windows allround, even the LX models.

As for current vRS production, it seems that very few of the early builds will be to the specifications shown in the brochures!

Quite plausible! I wonder if they're wired up with the GPS antenna too?

  • 1 month later...

I know this is an older thread revival now but is there any chances this meet will be taking place again in the near future?

As I've now got mine on the road and bits are gradually being done to "slowly" get it to where I want I'd be up for meeting some of you guys and seeing some other cars and what's been done to them all. Plus I just love having a blast out in the car so any excuse is a good one for me to have a drive :)
