VRS Gear Linkage Help Required

Featured Replies

Hi all, I've been having gear selection problems and thought a cable realignment might help.

When I compressed one of the cable springs, I found that only two of the plastic legs that clamp the threaded rod were present, the other has broken off. This means the rod moves within the spring assembly, but doesn't move the lever. It means I can select up and down but not side to side.

Can the ends of the cable be bought separately or is it a complete cable needed and can anyone provide part numbers please.

Thanks

I've only seen and fitted complete cables. I'd guess the end isn't available separately, but could be wrong.

You need a Bowden Cable Catch. They are both different sizes so you need to order a specific one.

Larger hole is 1J0711761B

Smaller hole is 1J0711761C

You can get the from eBay but they are probably cheaper at dealers.
