Each vehicle and tow bar must be 'uk type approved' to legally have a tow bar fitted.

At the last place I worked, we had stuff type TUV/CE/UL type approved. It costs tens of thousands of pounds.

I sign this . Need a towbar on my car but until type approved will not as my car insurance will be void if i do and have a accident with it on!!!

I was always under the impression that it was a technical issue i.e. The engine cooling, water and oil, are really only designed to carry the load of the car - not car + caravan - oil temperature would be marginally if so?

Though if we can remap from 130 to 180hp I would say there is SOME spare capacity...
