SE or SE+

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, I'm after advice, I'm about to order a yeti next week, I'm going for a 2.0 tdi, however I can't decide wether to go for SE spec or SE+, as the web site is a bit confusing as to what comes with each, and I'd prefer to have a clear idea as apposed to a salesman trying to sell me whatever gets him the best commission.

Standard equipment on SE over the S:

17”‘Dolomite’ alloys
(7J x 17’’ 225/50 R17 94W)
3.5mm aux. socketfor MP3 players
4 spoke multi-function leather
steering wheelforradio
Acoustic rear parking sensors
Additional 4 rearloudspeakers
Cruise control
Chrome inner door handles
Dualtone horn
Dual-zone air conditioning
Front centre armrest with jumbo box
(storage compartment)
Height adjustable rear head
rests (three)
Horizontalrails with sliding
hooks in boot
Integrated headlight washers
Lightin boot area
Maxi-dottrip computer
Net programme in boot
Radio ‘Bolero’ – 2DIN with integrated
CDchanger(6 CD), can play MP3
recordings
Rear armrest and cupholders, when
middle seatfolded down
Small leather package
(steering wheel, gearshiftlever,
hand brake grip)
Sunset glass (from B pillar back)

Extras on SE+ over the SE:

4 spoke multi-function leather steering
wheelforradio and telephone
‘Amundsen’ satellite navigation
CDautochanger(6 CDs)
Driver&passengerlumbar support
Folding tables on back offront seats
Net programme in boot
Telephone preparation including
Bluetooth® GSM II
Textile floor mats

Worth the extra for the SE+ IMO- I had the SE+ Octy and was very happy with the extra bits over thye SE, especially the sat Nat and bluetooth/MFSW.

I'd check with Skoda because both Amundsens I've had DID NOT have the 6 CD changer, but a single CD and a SD card slot instead (which is miles better IMO, especially with the controls on the MFSW) . Enjoy your new Yeti

Thanks everyone, SE+ it is, cd player isn't a deal breaker, I usually stream music from my phone, sat nav, Bluetooth and lumbar supports are the important bits, people only ever ring me when I'm in the bloody car!

Note that you get a net programme and CD autochanger with the SE also. I worked out that the SE+ has £980 of options over the SE, yet costs only £700 more. This includes textile mats (£65), folding tables on backs of front seats (£130), Sat Nav (you don't get DAB with the SE+ version whereas you do if you option with the SE at £535, so it equates to £335 really), 4 spoke multifunction leather steering wheel (radio and telephone with bluetooth, a lot at  £350!), Lumbar Support driver/passenger seats (£100).

I chose to order the SE+, as I wanted most of these options anyway, especially the Sat Nav. Now I've just got to wait patiently for delivery day.......

The Amundsen+ in the Yeti SE+ has an SD card slot plus a single cd slot on the unit. The 6 cd-changer sits on the side of one of the panels in the boot! Old technology I know but I'm gonna load mine with prog-rock just to annoy my teenage daughters  .

What about one of the adventure limited editions?

I can see your point about the adventure, think it'll come down to what deal can be had and lead time for delivery, if possible, I'd like to be driving it this year.

If you've got the money available (no credit), then the Adventure is a great deal. It isn't on the 0% offer, so you can end up paying around £2800 in interest, which would make haggling a deal on an SE+ much more viable if you're looking for a deal. The dealers don't seem to budge on offering the Adventure on interest free finance, a few on the site have tried including myself.

I've sat in an Adventure in the local showroom and if you're ok with the tyre-tread upholstery, then it's a lot of car for the money! Also, I think that these will be available quite quickly-you can't specify extra options, so either they're all built already, or they will churn them out within the next few weeks (Facelift model due from the new year).

We had an SE, now we have an SE+ - because of Bluetooth and lumbar support.
